This game is one of those few games that absolutely deserves to be REMADE, not remastered. The combat is horrible, the ui is bad and animations are horrid. Yet this game has one of the most atmospheric worlds in any videogame, with incredible music, great direction, a great story and incredible dark atmosphere. With all the advancements CD project has made with their games, I would love to see this game at the same standard of witcher 3

@Shadowboro28 жыл бұрын
I somewhat agree with you (though I like the game fine as it is, honestly). But I dont think people realize what an unbelievable job CD Project did on the Witcher 1 considering they only had Bioware"s piece of shit Aurora engine (my god did that thing look terrible even in its most famous legacy game, Neverwinter Nights). Considering they had a very small budget and this downright ugly Aurora engine to work with Id say what they managed to achieve is nothing short of amazing. Even more so when you consider this was the first game they ever developed.
@WhiskeyTango76s8 жыл бұрын
Fuck, I'd be happy with just a remaster. I've not played this or the 2nd one. Just an opportunity to play them would be nice. Last Gen console broke so that's a no go.
@Shadowboro28 жыл бұрын
Well, the Xbox 360 version of Witcher 2 Assassin Of Kings is playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility (though buying an Xbox One just to play one game is a bad idea; youre better off buying an older laptop or gaming PC and play the PC version as it would be the cheaper route to take). Its the first game (Witcher 1) that will probably never get a console release and thus remain playable only on PC.
@WhiskeyTango76s8 жыл бұрын
Yeah someone told me about that but my XB1 is still in the pawn shop, haven't had a reason to get it back out yet. After watching this and the 2nd one though I think I might. Probably sometime after Dishonored 2 is released

I would of liked it if Geralt was even more acrobatic and agile in Witcher 3 as he is in Witcher 1, particularly how he moves in this intro scene fighting the Striga. TW2 and TW3 he is still a bit too slow, almost normal. He still has an edge against human opponents in TW2/TW3 however, in my mind, especially after reading the novels, Geralt strikes me as being a lot more mobile. You do know that Alvin is Jacques de Aldersberg... right?
@MrMetsakurat11 жыл бұрын
Liberty Prime Alvin obviously timetraveled so he isn't "dead". He coul appear in Witcher 3 or something like that. He timetraveled...think about that. Jacques de Aldersberg died but at the same time Alvin lived...i think you get my drift.

*****"He coul appear in Witcher 3 or something like that." That's not possible i guess, cause first witcher was created with an assist of author of The Witcher, and it was just something like interpritation of the whole books in one game. By the way we could imagine like second and the third games continue storyline of the book but only a bit in common with first game, i hope u get my bad eng

Gameplay for Witcher1 is so uninteresting that after playing Witcher 3, it looks as if Geralt used to just wave a wand above his foes. Of course it was great in its time, but to quickly understand the story, videos like these help a lot. Thanks a bunch for the upload MedyGames.

I feel like a lot was missed out in this. It jumps from one aspect of the story to another so suddenly it's hard to understand what's happening.

It's almost like getting the full story would require playing the game Jokes aside, there are some 8 hour long ones you could probably watch as a show lmao, this is good for skipping through here and there to get the jist

Yk, this is only a compilation of cutscenes, you'd have to play the game to get the full experience. Though, take my word, I would not fully recommend it. Its very dated in comparison to Witcher 2 and 3. Like, witcher 1 to 2 is a VERY huge upgrade, in terms of all, graphics, combat, everything. I love the Witcher universe, but still I wouldn't fully recommend playing Witcher 1, unless it gets like, a remaster or remake.

+Fanny Horvath +Aj Koorstra Witchers are striped of most emotions when they go through the Trial of Grasses so they come across as flat when they talk because they can't express what little emotions they might still have. I hated it at first but it grew on me. I mostly find it amusing like at 48:22 I laugh every time he says "son of a bitch." 😂

After all the "witcher 1 is terrible" comments I get the Morrowind fans. I tend to say that Morrowind is terrible, but Morrowind fans say its the best in the series. Same for me with Witcher 1. I love it, it is fantastic. I have completed it 10 times or so. But people tend to dislike it for the same reason people dislike Morrowind nowdays... Morrowind is much worse for me though, because no voice acting, terrible animations, unintuitive combat, disgusting interface, .... Witch witcher you only have this unusual combat system (which still turned out intuitive and pretty simple for me), but everything else is just great.

danny c nah man. There are 3 categories of people: 1) both games are good 2) w1 is good, tes3 is bad 3) both games are terrible What games have in common is that both games graphics are very weak for their release date and both have some unusual combat (in W1 u have to just click "in time", in tes3 you fuckin hit the target point blank and miss).
@TehJakkal10 жыл бұрын
No point in needlessly comparing two very different games. Morrowind (in 2002) gave RPG lovers what they wanted. An RPG with incredible freedom and a world waiting for you to interact with it how you see fit. The Witcher (in 2007) gave RPG lovers more of what they wanted. It has a driven plot, engaging characters, intuitive combat, and a dash of that Polish charm to wrap it all up in a gift box any RPGer would dig into. That being said, I bought The Witcher the day it came out, and hated it for a day or two until I discovered I could switch to an over the shoulder camera. Honestly, the only thing that turned me off about it was the "click to do everything" style of play, and the OTS camera fixed that right up.

Not sure if it's included in this. But I played this game years ago but still remeber distinctly there was this dorky knight character. One of the few genuinely good guys in the grimdark Witcher world. And he was your buddy throughout the game but in the end by circumstances we ended up on opposing sides and he gave me no choice but to fight him. He was never evil, he was my friend, and I killed him. Great game.

Potem wielka wojna zmieniła oblicze świata, nastał czas miecz i topora, czas pogardy. Słuch o Geralcie z Rivi zaginął. Ale to już inna histora. Made In Polen

I feel bad, I bought the Witcher 2 during the summer sale finally, and after two hours decided the game was so good that out of respect I needed to play the first as well. I spent a couple months and about 10 hours in the game, really enjoying it. Now my save data is all gone, but I really don't want to replay everything I did, but I really don't want to be a scrub and just watch a video. I have to become the scrub I feared and resort to watching the remainder of this movie before I can play Witcher 2, but It's all for the best in the end I suppose.

I was always interested in the Witcher series but I wanted to play Witcher 1 and 2 before I bother playing 3. I had them in my Library for like 5 years before I finally decided to play it, and I was actually pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend playing all 3 games. Of course, like with any game series, if you spoil yourself with the newest and latest first you might not enjoy the first in the series.
