Hi Sis, @2:31 any idea, whats that flour fritter called (b4 the tahu) which is to be added into the mee goreng? During my school days, one plate of mee goreng with egg and same ingredients, cost only 25 cts but now......! Nice video n thank you for sharing.

I grew up in Fettes Park in the 60s and the mee goreng sold was located before the market and only operated in the evening. He was a cantankerous old boy but his food was excellent. He refused to cook more than one portion at a time and if you complained about his slow speed, he would tell to to get lost and refused to serve you. Later he took on an apprentice and When the old boy died he took over and relocated to the front coffee shop opposite Fatty Loh. This chap cannot be the apprentice as he us too young. Anyway, if you blinded folded me dropped me in the middle of Fettes Park and ask me where I was, I would not have a clue. It's so Developed. Btw, it cost 20 cents for rebus or goreng and you had to bring your own egg if you want it included. LOL.

It's known as cucur (I think this one looks plain, as you know there are different varieties of cucur - cucur bawang, cucur udang..) Yeah, the price as pretty much evolved with time. A plate of this is RM 5 now, so much different from the 25 sen per plate that you were able to enjoy then. Thanks for sharing.

Today there are like three Mee Goreng sellers at Fettes Park just this side of it. Thanks for sharing your story, it was very interesting especially the part that you got to bring your own egg. Food creates wonderful memories and thanks for sharing that memories with us.
