ZPKB: It's such a pleasant surprise that Sajal and Hamza make such an endearing pair. While Sajal and her acting in the drama is exceptionally good but must take a moment to praise Hamza and how he has nailed Dr. Nofil. He looks the part, his urban style, looks like a doc for real with his specs and outfits body language and by way of his dialogue delivery. Plus the spark that Sajal and Hamza bringing as a couple is so beautiful. It's handled so well. It's a classic romance that never gets old and portrayed beautifully by these two.

Zard is a masterpiece, an absolute delight to watch. No one most likely expected Sajal and Hamza to have such palpable chemistry but they just killed it. Sajal to is already phenomenal at her expressions but even Hamza was able to deliver just on the point. The fluster in Meenu's expression when he came near her, the lowering of her eyes when he checked her temperature, every expression was on point. Completely smitten with them and kudos to the writer and director for such a soulful, real story and strong direction with such beautiful frames.

You can visibly see the difference in quality between a drama like Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum vs Noor Jahan and Zard Patton ka Band. Plus, even though Farhat has written Mustafa and Sharjeena sensibly, everything else is pretty haywire. On the other hand, both ZPKB and NJ don’t have a moment or character out of place. They’re a combination of good direction and great writing whereas KMKT lacks heavily in direction

Gentleman: Gol rotis saved the day. + Munna is a perfect man who is loyal, just, adorable and sweet and he hasn’t killed anyone for the last 20 years as a “gentleman”. He may have been asking people nicely for money and “gentlemanly” work. + Zarnab is a doe-eyed and naive girl who is in awe with the concept of Gentleman vs Gunda which is, to her, the concept equivalent to Hawking radiation which is why she makes gold rotis to make Munna teach her more about this concept. + He also passed the test from Mifra who was trying to become a mother or father to Zarnab and judge Munna because her own father is busy singing “Aey Jamalo” with his surrogate son’s apprentice. + Zarnab’s father is more interested in getting Munna settled than thinking why such a match is bad for his daughter but I guess Munna ke ghar ki patties and dialogue baazi is unavoidable😊. Waqas sahab seems more eager to marry Munna than Zarnab herself.

The romantic ticks this week - Few romantic scenes melted my heart after a long time - 1. ZPKB - "Ijazat agar do toh kadmoan mein so loon" Meenu's restlessness throughout the episode was keeping me hooked... She dared to try meeting him in the night when her brothers caught her & her expression when Sartaj warns her to control her emotions was such a dead giveaway that Meenu was fighting intense volcano of emotions... but I didnt expect her to confess/agree to that feeling...but she did and what an innocent, and brave way to do that! Her intense restlessness led her to confess her feelings to Nofil!..."Woh sach keh rahi hain"... Not a reciprocal expectation but more of an emotional compulsion!... "Khuda jaane phir neend aaye na aaye, Koi nagma ae ishq gaye na gaye"...and then the trailer for next week where Nofil confesses his feelings to us!... I cant wait!!! Sajal & Humza are fire in this couple portrayal and I am so surprised by Humza's X Factor bcoz I wasnt convinced about this in his chemistry with Iqra in the last show! 2. Jaan Nisar - I know many of you might not agree but I really like the chemistry between Nosherwan and Dua. Hiba and Danish look so comfortable and my heart totally melts in their scenes where Danish stares in her eyes and she reciprocates in her own way!... I totally feel the old school love! Next few episodes are going to break my heart! 3. Gentleman - I might not agree with the whole story but the confession of love while Munna drives Zarnab back was totally novel... How Zarnab poked him and then spoke his confession on her own, and all he could do was give his cute, shocking expressions throughout, not knowing what has just hit him and for how long it will keep hitting him!... and then they reach home where Zarnab confesses her own feelings...and Munna remains in a state of shock until the next day!... I found ZPKB and Gentleman confessions very novel writing - well done writers!

The writer of the drama "Gentleman" has utterly destroyed the character of a strong, independent journalist to ashes by depicting her as a roti-maker to a bunch of goons. It is absurd to see a strong, opinionated woman succumbing to lovesickness for a man to the extent that she forsakes her career to become his house help. The lack of context in the storyline is glaring, and Mifra's uninvited appearances at various houses remain puzzling. This show certainly merits a Razzie award for its abysmal writing. Presently, none of the drama's elements make any sense, and the characters' actions are entirely illogical. Unfortunately, for me, the romantic pairing of Humayun and Yumna is not convincing at all.

What has happened to Yumna Zaidi to reduce herself from a no nonsense woman with a career to playing a sit at home girl who only cooks and run’s to her BF ‘s house on some pretext or other . Disappointed Yumna for choosing this role .

ZPKB: I loved this episode for the beautiful and tender moments of a blooming love story. Sajal is a marvel of a performer: her guilt with Sartaj, her mix of guilt and admission with Nofil and at parallel a sense of frighten and sadness. She is brilliant. With that said, I feel that the topic of maternal health and family planning is added more so like an afterthought. It is being addressed but it doesn’t feel connected enough for me to feel much about them apart from a human aspect. It should’ve been a central track so that we would have known what the stakes are and what the loss is at a more microscopic level, like we know for Rani’s case, which would’ve made us more adamant on supporting and advocating. However, the writing and direction is beyond marvellous to keep us addicted and entertained!!!

ZPKB. Hasan taking your point forward. I have been watching Pakistani dramas since the days of Samundar and Tanhayiaan etc. According to me chemistry between two people who are in love entails multiple elements for it to be truly called CRACKLING, FIRE and BRIMSTONE. There is love ( which is staple in Pak dramas) where expression is leashed, romance ( sometimes expressed through eye contact, glances). But most important is longing for the other, sensuousness and sexuality which is implicit in any relationship between two lovers. What has astonished me is Sajal's expression of these elements of longing, and pent up sexuality ( heaving bosom, pursing of lips under that sheer sheet), her looks of yearning, in the last scene was mind boggling. I have never seen those elements expressed by anyone in Pak dramas with such finesse and subtlety. She has brought forth that dimension of complete love and romance into her character.

Zard Patton ka bund: Poignant and beautiful handling of the budding romance between the two leads. The host of interesting characters amidst this rural setting with their own subplots are also quite engaging. Meenu's admission and how, her integrity and being confounded by her developing feelings towards the good doctor...so delightfully portrayed! Nofel is a charmer but a sincere one. I trust the story to deliver on its promise and navigate these characters with wholesome maturity until the end.❤

Zard Patton: To answer your question as to why Sajal looks or seems so different in this show when it comes to romantic scenes with Hamza than her other roles is because of Meenu. The character of Meenu wears her emotions on her sleeves. She is expressive. Whatever she thinks, she does, and she is passionate x 10000%. When she was angry at Nofil regarding the kid's case, she didn't say he made a mistake. She accused him of MURDER directly. When he denied teaching her - she decided NEVER to seek help on her education from anyone. Her thinking is extreme. She is not filtered. She is not hesitant. Therefore, the emotions she feels now for Dr. Nofil, once she has realised, is extreme too. Sajal's other character's slowly & doubtfully (is that a word?) develop feelings & are hesitant. Meenu is not. She is passionate, clear, a bit extreme, and defiant.

For Hassan: I am from India and wouldn't relate to the Pakistani rain situation but my parents would give us a lot of holidays in the rainy season, we are an extremely educationally inclined family and all us siblings were straight A students. We obviously would be extremely safe at school but my parents would still not send us because to reach school you go in a vehicle, it was an auto rickshaw/ school bus in our case, the roads are not always in the best condition in the sub continent, the driver will not be able to see pot holes etc, loose electricity wires hanging can be a huge hazard. So, I honestly understand why parents are not sending their kids to school. I don't live in India anymore but my brother still doesn't send his kids to school when it rains.😅

Gentleman - +1 to Aamna... Point 1) The scenes as a standalone scenarios might be cute but as a whole I am lost who Zarnab and her father truly are? What are their characters? They were shown to be someone who opposed everything that was hooliganism... Whether it was Munna type of gundagardi or Faaris type white collar crime... When Munna says that he cannot leave Hooliganism because he will be dead the next day, Zarnab agrees but when Faris asked her if she was ready to stay with him without her career in a very remote place because he refused to take a bribe, she has no answer!... He says his career will end, and she was OK with it... She wanted him to stand up towards choosing no career over bribery!... Why different lens for Munna over Faaris? ... Faaris did try following her principles and paid heavily... Munna didnt follow her principle and told her blankly that if he did, he will be dead...Her Father and she, breaks her engagement with Faaris on the ground of their principles but bow down and infact fall in love with Munna's career who has now taken over from Rehmati...So, Zarnab is now OK with Rehmati's profession? If the answer is that because Munna used his hooliganism to protect her while Faaris didnt, well, sure! That whole proactive protection was very romantic, but where does it take Zarnab & her father's character? ...And Faaris did try protecting her by escalating to his seniors, just that she is oblivious.... ...Point 2) One who was so passionate about her career, what is she doing to take her voice forward? I thought they might show her opening her own YT channel or something to continue being the voice of the aawaam but she has become a lady of the house cooking for goons... What was her plan when Faaris career would have diluted and she would have none, like she has now, then how would they manage their household? The confession between Munna and her and the movement towards marriage are very exciting scenes and done well by the actors especially Humayun and the Abba but in the overall story, the show is lost! I am OK with Mifra's character. I used to work with a guy who was related to the person this happened to and this happened in my great state of Utah in Bluejohn Canyon and not Grand Canyon. It is not a “shaska” and from what I have heard from my coworker, the film is almost identical to what he actually endured.

ZPKB: The writer has a strong grip on the pulse of our simple gullible awaam. Every sentence has a message portrayed in a subtle , enjoyable manner and in simple words. This is what good writing is; simple, to the point with strong content. It was so sensible to be telling Meenu to not let love deter and distract her from her ambition of becoming a doctor which was so important, not for herself but for the society also. Gentlemen: I don't like how Zarnab's identity has completely changed. She was portrayed as a confident and intelligent journalist who wasn't afraid of speaking her mind. I loved how she was shown as a strong female character and was such an enjoyable character to watch. Now, ever since she fell in love with Munna she is just a housewife. She left her job and is constantly making chai or roti. You don't just abandon your career because you fall in love. The character arc doesn't make sense at all. It is such a shame that Gentlemen isn't enjoyable anymore.
