You'll most likely be good this year in June. It's definitely not like last year and the snow levels have been way higher. The next storm coming in is like rain/ snow mix on Donner summit. Buuut, things can change fast. I'm also planning on doing it

Great content as always. I ride using the layering system. I also have the Adv Spec Linesman jacket and wear it with a knoxx armored shirt which is really comfortable (but has no chest protection). I'd love to add an airbag vest - keep the sleeve and shoulder armor from the Knoxx shirt, and then layer with the Linesman. Just curious if you think that would work. Also, looking to ship my bike to CA from NY to ride CABDR North this summer. I also ride solo a lot. Would also consider harder sections if riding with a group.

Yes, the linesman has enough give in it to accommodate an airbag. That armor is similar to what I may end up doing with mine, though I may leave the chest and back armor just for the extra protection.

I’m planning on riding it late September. I rode the Southern section and it was challenging with the sand. I live in Littleton and was going to go to the premier in Lakewood but couldn’t make it work. Do you have any idea when the film be posted on KZbin?

They normally post it after the film tour is over. So May/June typically. There is a showing in Fort Collins on the 9th.

Any chance you will be down at Sterling's Desert Adventure Rally? I am riding down from Nor Cal, but most likely staying west of the Sierras.... Probably will on the way back up too, but if by chance things melted off, will be hitting some of the Nor Cal BDR! Cool video as always.

@@OneTakeSunday I’m driving my sprinter van RV from Windsor CA. Was thinking of riding down on my GS but have decided to take my Husky 701 instead and will put it on a rack. Probably stop and camp the night ( Monday) some where in the desert near Joshua Tree. The routes down there are totally big bike friendly but just think I’ll have more fun on the Husky on the off road.

A little off-topic perhaps, but as a prior Medic, you might understand, If you went down with the air bag vest, injured a shoulder/arm and upper thorax area, how hard would it be to remove the vest yourself?

Not that difficult unless I injure both arms. But if that's the case I'm in big trouble anyway. The vest deflates itself over a few minutes.

Not sure if you have seen this. I don’t think that inadvertent deployment of the Tech Air 3 vest is an issue to be concerned about for ADV riding. This video is done totally in “Street” mode on a Tech Air 5 vest. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKrLen54opqmec0si=ulK6pCpObp4CvrF9

Yeah, Adam is a great rider and one of the reasons I think I'll be ok with the Tech 3. We'll find out.

the Northern Cal route had been 'promoted' as the route for novice off roaders. A route to introduce off road/BDRs to entry riders. hahaha....nope...not through these mountains!

They definitely highlighted the alternate expert routes. It'll be interesting to see how the regular route compares.
