Meermin is a Chinese brand from which is the lower end of Albaladejo and Carmina, a Spanish made brand from Mallorca. They have a very high-end production. It's not cheap by any means. They have heritage, nice styling, beautiful leathers, and great construction.
This brand is fairly popular across the menswear space. Overall, their shoes look more expensive than they are.
01:06 Linea Maestro - Merrmin's higher-end model. This is a hand welted shoe which is something you would never find in this price category.
02:12 Brown Suede Penny Loafer - Goodyear welted shoe, you have like a gem band that is glued into it's sole so weld can hold.

Meermin is my go-to work/office shoe. Have 5 pairs of them and all of them have held up nicely over the years with regular shoe maintenance.

Just bought a pair of shearling captoe boots in chocolate from Meermin. They were the only warm winter dress boots I could find online that looked good, and they're pretty comfortable. If they hold up well, they'll probably be my favorite pair of footwear, as they're super versatile. Only problem is the left boot seems to be lighter and less shiny than the right, but I'm sure polish can fix that.

I wear Whites boots that are old fashioned hand welted firefighting/logger boots made is USA. I dont really know what the difference is in feel on my feet at all, but I know I like 'em.

I recently ordered a Meermin cap to oxford in the G fit as I have wide feet. It was a very nice looking shoe and appeared to be well built for the price.. Unfortunately the sizing runs very small. The shoes were virtually impossible to put on and so I returned them.

I purchased meermin's balmoral boxcalf flex good-year welted boots and wore them everyday for a couple of hours at home and placed tight fitting shoe trees in them to break them in. It's been two weeks and it still needs some breaking in. To be honest, just because of that, I would pay a higher price for another brand that would take a shorter break in period. Everytime I change shoes before I leave home (and that is after two hours of wearing them around the house) just because I would like to walk normally. It even irritates me sometimes when I am putting them on. And I am actually one of those people who would sometimes compromise comfort for style, but I gave up on this one. However, they are a decent pair of boots! I will continue to break them in around the house until I could walk in them more properly.

Someone needs to review their boots. There is only 1 or 2 videos of the boots on YT. I ordered a couple of pait of the Kudu to check out. Everyone says they are the best value shoe wear. Selling direct cut out the middle man.

I've briefly handled Samuel Windsor shoes (not mine). They are inexpensive because they are inexpensive, if that makes sense. Poor quality leather, inelegant lasts and questionable construction. The pair I handled had been worn for a week and looked awful - not what I would expect for a high quality shoe. They cost £40-£60 and there is a reason for that.

I like Meermin. Though at this point prefer to save buy J. Fitzpatrick, Cobbler Union, Carmina (and soon TLB). On the JR soles, have owned Allen Edmonds the toe on their regular sole disappeared very quickly (a problem I have with shoes, but the Meermin pair I have with JR had the toe last a lot longer)...but perhaps the rest of the soles would hold up the same. Unfortunately though, even if the rest of the sole holds up, in my case it did not matter since the toe being eaten away at meant the whole shoe needed re-soling. Of course not as much an issue now that I use toe taps, but just thought i'd mention that regarding JR soles vs Allen Edmonds soles (on a Meermin video). I think Meermin is practically unmatched as an entry level goodyear welted shoe (though J. Fitzpatrick's new JF Line might give them a run for their money)

Great advice. Does the Meermin run true to size? I measure my feet off the Brannock device: USA men’s sizing version. I visited Cobbler Union at PCM in Atlanta and was quite impressed with their quality, detail and finishing.

@@periscope7731 I'd say so in my experience. I take the same size in Cobbler Union as I do in Meermin (8 UK/9 US). Though, it is worth mentioning that feet are weird. For reference I am a 9.5 in length using the Brannock device, but a very slim D width and have a shallow foot (top of my foot sits rather low with a moderate to steep slope as you get to my instep, before my ankle). I find in Allen Edmonds, and every other shoe (Carmina, TLB, J Fitzpatrick, Meermin, Cobbler Union), that a 9 US/8 UK in most standard widths fit me best. The only exception is something like Gaziano and Girling, where I wear an 8.5 UK E width. So, yes it fairly true to size, but the best reference is other good quality shoes you've worn.

@@alexnw6050 Thanks, I appreciate your assessment. Sounds like quite the shoe collection you’ve got going on there. I am one size smaller than you, with a high arch, placing me at 7 UK/8 US. I will order a pair online from Meermin, but would rather wait to try Cobbler Union in person at PCM. It’s too much of a pain to return wrong sized shoes from here in Bermuda.

While I love your channel 💓 and dress in classical style, I can't get behind using a baby calf to create the shoes. I would urge manufacturers to find alternative materials with the point of making a great dress shoe(s). I tend to avoid China-made items because of the way things are made over there. Often workers are underpaid and unsanitary conditions are not uncommon. On top of that, a lot of things made in China are made cheaply. I don't want to support companies that don't treat their workers with respect.
