@@MateoKupstysChica In the wise words of master yi from league of legends " A true master knows he is the eternal student". But yeah 100% very few people in history were considered masters or sword saints in swordsmanship and those who were tended not to consider themselves to have achieved mastery, just proficiency. even European sword masters such as Fiore Dei Liberi had the title of master but rarely considered themselves as such. Im pretty sure this quote from Fiore described his mindset on what he considered true mastery to be "I have seen one hundred men who would call themselves Masters yet if you took all their skills added together, you would not have the makings of three good students, let alone one Master". He thought a lot of people claimed the title of master when they werent skilled or experienced enough to truly be considered as such.

I did my bachelor paper on "the transmission of body knowledge through virtual media", and I realized that one can get VERY good technically, however if one limits himself to online training, one will miss some teaching elements, like feeling the preassure of the conterparts hit, or learning timing. However, if you get to train with someone, AND together you assist the class, the knowledge-transmission will be very accurte. I can only recomend it!

Watching this after the ninja video has made me realize the character and attitude of a samurai is something different and I really like it. They seem more lively in comparison to the guy in the ninja video but also laid back. These guys here seem to have a real sense of honor, as a samurai would have, and man was it brutal to hear the seppuku explained. It seems as though ninjas would’ve been peculiar introverted people back in the day.

43 years of study in many martial ways, (had to stop needed to many operations joints, spine and neck) I learned many things, humility is extreme confidence in one's ability and that would concern me greatly if I had to go with this person. When I would go up against cocky people, I knew I won, because they were full of fear and uncertainty in their abilities. I always respect humble people and especially those who use intellect and reasoning to get out of a confrontation. Those three things, man better leave that person alone LOL!

The statement he gives at the end is really illuminating. I think sometimes it's easy to just gloss over how samurai could engage in warfare like that while also writing poetry, singing, and things like that. But ultimately, for people who had to drench themselves in blood to get by day by day (and like he mentioned, to sometimes have to also take on jobs as independent craftsmen or grow vegetables at home due to not having enough money) to still find such profound beauty in the natural world and the arts says a lot about how we today sometimes still have a lot to learn about life. Sometimes you have to learn to embrace life no matter where you are and find something to cherish even when everything seems bleak.

@ABC ABC Yakuza is a dying breed now in Japan. While Organized Crime still exists. Most yakuza are now simply regualer citizens. The problem is that people wouldnt want to hire a yakuza just like it is to hire a former convict. More so in Japan where maintaining appearances is valued highly in their society.
