I dont think it's possible to have anything mean to say about this KZbin channel. It's about animals and someone who obviously loves them. Happy feelings for all!

I think it's more about maybe people who think animals shouldn't be housed after rescue/treatment (so, that they should be released in the wild following treatment), and Jesse did speak on that in a video before. I forget the title, something like, Animal Welfare vs Animal Rights I think.

Every channel about animals really risks having people who think they know more harass them for "bad husbandry" or "animal cruelty" or such, no matter how good they actually are. It's nice to see this hasn't happened here.

I'm a relief teacher currently on an assignment in an infant room and I realised this week a lot of the same policies transfer from animal care to infant care. Building trust bonds, providing safe but challenging opportunities to explore, learning the various personalities and the different ways each individual communicates.

Just went and watched the video on how your organization started. I give you two props for being able to juggle a family, jobs, life, and Animal Wonders. It takes real dedication to do what two accomplish. Very few people in this world have that kind of drive anymore.

Hi! I've been watching your show since it started. A few years ago, I asked about getting a job like yours. And last week I got a job at the San Francisco Zoo! So now I also get to educate people about the awesome life on our planet, and help them see what we're doing to protect endangered animals. We also have some animals that we can bring out for visitors to meet, and I'm hoping I'll be able to help with them eventually. Thanks for making an awesome show!

I got my Savannah monitor about 8 months ago and it was the best thing I ever did. He's got such a personality but, unfortunately, due to the poor conditions that he was in at the pet shop I got him from he had the beginning of metabolic bone disease. He visits the vet clinic I work at every 3 months for blood work and X-rays and is on constant meds to keep his bone density up. Despite all odds, he's almost two feet long and loving as can be. It is so important that these guys fall into the right hands and I'm so glad this little guy is with you. They're such great animals when cared for correctly!

Sampson is exceptionally calm there, I usually think of baby monitors, especially ones being rehoused a couple times, to be skittish as they had just moved in, but as you said he's been with guys for a few months now and it really shows how you guys take effort in caring for your animals. You guys do an amazing job, so please keep up the good work! :)

I did buy one of these animals on impulse. I only knew what it was and how big they got, so in that respect I knew what I was buying, but of course I had to do research while already owning him. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve worked with him every day since I got him. He’s healthy, friendly, eats like a raptor, and lets me pet him all the time. I learned some basic carpentry skills so I could build him bigger and bigger enclosures. I cannot stress how much quality that 40 dollar impulse purchase brought to my life.

Sampson is small for his age. Mine was that size at 4 months old. His house is too small, they grow fast and love to explore. His bath tub should be in his cage so he can bathe when he wants to. They don't like being forced to do anything! When he gets big and independent he will let you know. Everything is on their terms or else! Thanks for adopting him and giving him a chance to educate people. They are not big dumb mean lizards like most people think. They are big smart lizards and when brought up right become great family members. I like them more than dogs or cats.

We found a harness at PetSmart of all places that works wonderfully for our bearded dragons. It's a very simple and soft leather sling with one pinch'n'slide to make it snug. Think you and him would like it much better because it's leather and will not catch on his scales.

I want to get a European boxer, but Ive been holding off because I need to know everything I can before. Ive been holding off for about 2 years now. Im at the point of researching good loving and reputable breeders. And before everyone says "rescue only" every pet Ive own up to this future dog has been a rescue. That being said its likely that every one after will be rescue too.

Another reason why it's really important to work with them when they are young. When they get to adult size, a bite can be pretty bad (as in "I need to go to the hospital for antibiotics and stitches" bad). Savannah's are pretty easy to tame, though.

Advise: up the humidity or offer a humid hide. They're from dryer regions but spend alot of time in burrows where it's nice and humid. Keeping them dry over their lifetime can cause issues with organs.

Grey Ecologyst Yep, he gets his substrate misted twice a day and the spagnum moss mixed in the soil helps retain moisture. One moist area on the hot side and another on the cool side. Thanks for the info though.

Mine has this bad shed and I don’t really know what to do we live in Alaska and they are definitly in good hands but I want to avoid getting them wet over the winter time. We also got a dirt substrate for them that was highly recommended and they really lost interest in mealworms because of it...any suggestions?

Soaking isn't mandatory and could be a very stressful experience for a young monitor. High humidity is a must or they will get dehydrated and then gout will set in. Signs of low humidity is having to soak them as my own monitor has never had problems shedding and has never been soaked in he bath tub.
