I’m just learning that most deaf people and their family members don’t sign 🤯 and my mind is blown. How do parents not learn immediately after learning their child can’t hear?

Well most are to hearing parents and they give Hesring to the child and expect them to be hearing

Cause many parents are stuck in the 9 to 5 pyramid schemes. How can they impact the world when they themselves are slaves?

@@jianne9440 still need to learn sign language both parents and child and hearing aid isn't much help to understand when people talk. Hearing aid doesn't help hear the way hearing people hear or understand. Some word are really difficult to understand for deaf even can hear it.

I'm not a fan of rap but I enjoy watching the rap sign interpreters practice their craft to the music. Pretty cool!

What an inspiration bro. What an impact. Despite my good hearing results, learning ASL is pretty dope.

Captions? You produced a story about sign language, about access for Deaf people via sign language interpreting, and it's not accessible to the community you're talking about?
@TheKittyWonder4 жыл бұрын
I use captions. You have to turn them on using the three dots in the top right corner
@genolgra4 жыл бұрын
@@TheKittyWonder Thanks, however I'm watching via a pc, not on a mobile device, I know how to turn on captions, with my settings they are automatically on if available. This video does not have captions available, except autogenerated captions. These are not suitable. They have no punctuation, do not show different speakers, and as they are generated via speech recognition, are full of errors. Example direct from the transcript: "can I do with it what can I create with it what he created is a combination of dance theater and basic communication take it from Kevin Albee who's also deaf and met mad at a concert that was the first time Kevin understood what the singer was saying finally he felt like the rest of the crowd I always did part of the vision so I don't fall behind but most of the time the boy I try to look at people who try to see if I can catch understand I wish tired to part of it but I'm not entity to be acting and it responds it's more inspiring to me as well because it gave me motivation to keep going knowing that helping to make a difference Matt now travels around the country reaching out to both deaf and hearing fans my name is chance right in fact he spent much of last year"... and so it keeps going. The name of the person the video is about is spelled incorrectly nearly every time it's mentioned. This article might help to explain why autogenerated captions are not suitable: www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2019/08/youtube-captions/595831/

Same old story. This happens time and time again. I agree with you, Christy. Just like Fox having Christine Sun Kim perform the national anthem in ASL at the Superbowl, but not showing it on TV for more than 2 seconds. It would be so easy to do picture in picture and give access to thousands of ASL users at home.

@@genolgra If it's not 3 dots on yours, it may be a gears (flower looking) thing in the top right hand corner ☺
