Fernando Yeah actually haha. I've heard all these crazy stories about EVE and then I watch a gameplay video and its just "...oh.... ok"
@tanner1ie9 жыл бұрын
If Eve had the gameplay of the X series, it'd be the greatest game ever, but as it is, the game is more like a L.a.r.p.g. which leaves many of us hoping for more. The game also has a subscription fee which i and many others aren't prepared to pay :_ . And while Eve does indeed have a deicated fanbase, IF Egosoft ever make X either partially online or a full mmo, i wonder how many of those players would keep playing it?... :) . (I also tried playing Dust 514, another game which could have been so much more, pity it didn't relaunch on PS4 :_ .)
@ousooners51938 жыл бұрын
+Fernando That's because most people have been trained to play mmo's against the mechanics of the game. In EVE the mechanics of the game are meant to support your play against other players. So if you play it like you play any other mmo, it feels soulless and boring. Really, EVE requires some imagination, and some willpower, which most people have forgotten how to use.

I've said it before, but Eve is the most fascinating game that I will never play lol. It's amazing what the game has become and the approach the developer has taken toward the game, and I find it a lot of fun to keep up with the major events in the game, but there's just way too much going on in this game for me to want to invest myself in it.

It really does take a lot of energy to play Eve, and unless you know exactly what you want to do when you start playing... it will be hard to stick with it. If the interest is Pirate based. Brave Newbies always takes new players. :p

Hello fountain war? It broke out becouse CCP changed the way production works taking away his empire's major source of income, thus forcing them to invade an at thte time larger alliance for resources. How is it in favor of him?
@bellidrael74577 жыл бұрын
Oh, I didn't know until over 4 minutes in this guy is the leader of Goonswarm. Nobody cares about Goonswarm. They're just a mass zerg corp that rarely does anything other than run around doing mass uncoordinated PvP. I haven't played the game in years and I know that. Goonswarm is hated by most people not because they control things or are the biggest corporation or whatever. People hate them because they are anti fun and that is their only interest, on top of them being the most toxic group of people anyone can ever meet. As he said, their goal is to make every experience as unpleasant as possible. And that's not just for big corporation wars. Goonswarm is most known for their creation of such events as going around places that are supposed to be safe for players, and working together to kill people and destroy ships that they have absolutely no quarrel with simply becasue they find ruining people's experiences fun. It's called Hulkageddon, and they do it because they're basically the Death Eaters of the game. Just like how in Harry Potter Voldemort and his army were like "FILTHY DISGUSTING HALF BLOODS" Goonswarm is the exact same way, except they go "FILTHY DISGUSTING CAREBEARS" because they simply cannot STAND the thought of people playing the game any way other than how they want it to be played.
@massv9537 жыл бұрын
Errr how is goonswarm just a 'mass zerg corp' they have a huge capital fleet and good logistics, tons of resources and controlled space. They also took down some of the biggest and most respected alliances in the game? CFC(goons alliance) is rivaled only by Panfam/money badger alliance

Hilmar's right. Eve is supposed to be played that way, and that's why I love this game. You can become anything you want, given you have enough patience, and monies.

I had a tenant who loved to play this game. He would spend every free hour after work in his room just playing eve on his supercomputer setup. He would always tell me about this crazy stuff going on in the game, and it was honestly pretty fascinating. I'm not an mmo player, but he convinced me to look into getting the game. Then I watched a few gameplay videos lol.

EVE is an experience you never forget if you spent some time in it, which is quite cool in the grand schemes of things in life.

Dr. Michel Mayor, together with Didier Queloz, he discovered 51 Pegasi b, the first extrasolar planet orbiting a sun-like star, 51 Pegasi. For this achievement, they were awarded the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics "for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star" resulting in “contributions to our understanding of the evolution of the universe and Earth’s place in the cosmos.”

Played the game for a couple of years. Extremely immersive. Got in the way of real life and sold my character. Calmer waters make me consider to start a new career in the cutthroat world of EvE.

how is it not interactive? What other game can you setup a corporation as realistic as eve with factories, logistics, bookkeeping, stock options, economics of scale, politics etc that all work nearly as they do in real life? Ill wait

and he did log on at least once, I had him on my watch list and one day, around two years ago I think (shortly after the Mittanni Affair anyway), he was on-line. So I went to my locator agent and found he was way up in the north of Caldari space in a high sec system, and I was down way south of Gallente space; too many jumps for me to get there to slag him out in local over the Mittani Affair.

Having a guy this powerful in an online game is actually dangerous in the real world, cuz some crazy people under his command might do anything he says to be rewarded, like real-life killing another warlord.

@sonicfan121217 жыл бұрын
Magni56 Well. To encourage someone to commit suicide in an official, real-life, meeting is not "Internet things". I mean, I'd go up there and kick his teeth in for such an insult. But someone else *would* probably kill themselves.

Again...its goonswarm....they are a gaming organization largely based on being trolls and their share love of internet humor. They started years ago on something aweful forums and are still in many games, not just eve. If you take anything goonswarm says seriously then you are exactly the kind of person they love to torment and troll.
@Merc110807 жыл бұрын
I agree. Having play the game for six years now I know that there are people in the eve universe that would take it that far
@addanametocontinue7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are also people who shoot others for fun. They don't take it seriously. I guess that means the people who got shot deserved it because they took getting shot seriously.

Sounds like he learned from Israel. - Pretend you're a total madman that one better doesn't make angry, while in fact you're just a sociopath with an agenda. He could fit in nicely at management school, but I don't think he would like it. (Because there he'd just be like the others, hah.) Reading the guy from CCP is interesting, too. He sounds like someone who could get off on burning ants with a magnifying glass for hours and comment on the fascinating effects on the colony. (Well, how much CCP likes Mittani is in itself a pretty clear statement.) This video conveys quite well why the world needs more heart to restore some balance to the growing mind cultism.
