My 20+ yo gelding is exactly the same way -- always has been. Very forward and sensitive (read neurotic) but scopey, quick and capable of the tightest turns you'd ever want to see in the jumper ring. They can be a lot of horse but I love it! :D She's cute, looking forward to her show videos -- and her foal! (Hopefully we get that update!)

Well before my accident as can't ride now due to disability and my genetic condition has progressed severely so my joints dislocate constantly! Thankyou for this little window into your life and your horses'!

My last horse was a grey thoroughbred mare. I should have bought stock in generic, purple shampoo..... because that was what removed the stains from her coat the best. She also had some strong opinions about some things, and love to spook at boogy men that weren't there! But I loved her so much!!

You did a lovely job with her, Holly. It is clear that she likes to go fast but you seemed to have brokered a compromise with her. She is a very pretty mare and looks very fluid. Her colt is gorgeous. Glad to see Dali coming along so well -- woo hoo -- looking forward to seeing the big lug back at the metre. You look so teeny tiny on him -- the other horses look like ponies when they come into the ring. Glad to hear Khal isn't lame and that there are all kinds of shows coming our way. Thank you for sharing your horsey life, Holly.

We'd jump 1.45m easily, anything less than that I'd have zero control 😆🙈 made pony club and low level shows extremely interesting for a 15yr teen 😉

Holly, you asked for washing suggestions. I had a mature grey show mare once and we used the bluing shampoo they have in the grocery stores for ladies with white hair. We knew what ages she liked to get dirty, so once dry we used white powder (called baby powder in the USA) on those areas. Most of the time we just brushed off the powder the next morning or what stain there was was very easy to give a spot wash to in order to get white again. Also could use white chalk if the dirty area really refuses to come clean. (Which is what I do with tall stockings and blazes in addition to shaving those particular areas.). Look forward to next weeks video.
