What stood out to me the most during these scenes is that Micheal is exactly who Sonny raised him to be. Sonny modeled and preached "family first, loyalty, retribution for betrayal, and live by a code". Sonny taught Michael these things by both word and deed. Let's not forget that other than Morgan, Michael is the only one of Sonny's children that he raised from babyhood to adulthood. Michael has been with Sonny the longest, he was exposed to Sonny and Carly's dysfunction more than any of his siblings, he's learned the lessons his parents taught well. While next to Carly and Sonny, Michael does seem mild mannered and a peacekeeper. But that's compared to CARLY and SONNY. When pushed, Michael has a wicked temper. He's stubborn. He can be vindictive. He's has influence due to his family name and wealth. But he's also spoiled and can be entitled. And when he chooses, he can be violent although he prefers to handle his enemies more like a Q. Of course he's doing too much. Of course he's going for the jugular. And he's doing exactly what his parents taught him to do in these situations. To destroy anyone who hurts him and his family. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times Sonny and/or Carly has sworn vengeance and promised to destroy someone. Sonny betrayed the family and broke his 'code'. Not by cheating on Carly, he's done that too many times and have too many outside kids for that to be much of a surprise. Sonny's betrayal is in not destroying Nina, of not being as galled and furious by her actions and the harm she cause their family as was reasonable and warranted. Then Sonny sided with Nina and publicly HELPED her further harm the family n two trials. Of course Michael is pissed and on a warpath. Can you imagine Sonny's reaction if he hadn't developed feelings for Nina and hadn't been conflicted? We all know he would have went after her just as Michael is going after him. This Michael is who the little red-headed cutie who bossed his daddy's henchmen around and tried to sic them on people he didn't like and who hurt his mommy and daddy, grew up to be. Sonny's chickens have come home to roost and he has only himself to thank. I'm loving the karma of this full circle moment.

Absolutely! I wish people notice this more, but they're too busy being mad at Michael. I really think the ONLY person that can take down Sonny is Michael, because Michael is what Sonny created in his own image. None of Sonny's usual tricks (emotional blackmail, yelling, screaming and threatening) are working on Michael this time, and that's all on Sonny.

@@cheetahinireland18 I can't say I care if Michael takes Sonny down or not, but it sure is fun (ironically fun) to watch. If when he learns that Michael is going after him and he retaliates, he can no longer hide behind the pretense that he's a 'good man and/or a good father'. If it becomes public and Sonny doesn't retaliate then it's more evidence to his enemies that he's weak and therefore vulnerable. If it doesn't become public he will still be so hurt and angry that it will taint every relationship he has and hopefully he'll have to acknowledge his part in this mess. He's damned either way and the fun part is that Sonny, by is own actions, selfishness, and inability to accept responsibility or accountability is the architect of this whole thing. And I hope it breaks him.

Good points..Micheal is more like Sonny than he probably wants to admit or realize. Sonnys tendency is to be unforgiving, punish anyone who crosses him (in business and in life) and expects an almost blind loyalty from those around him. Michael is basically acting how Sonny would if the roles were reversed.

Sonny isn't meeting him halfway. Sonny does this all the time: screws up, emotionally blackmails his family, and will do anything BUT apologize. He'll never say sorry for testifying against Michael. He'll never say sorry for getting with Nina while telling Michael he needs to BEG for forgiveness. He'll never say sorry for doing something that could force Michael to allow his own child to be around someone that Michael and Willow feel is a bad influence (when he hung Michael's bio-father on a meathook for trying to be around the kid). If Michael is smart, he'll have nothing to do with Sonny ever again.

I have to agree with Michael on everything. I know no one will agree with me but imagine if this was your father who turned on you for sharing be woman who is trying to ruin you in court and gets in the stand and helps her. Or the woman who stole Avery while Michael had custody, showed up at the graveside funeral and caused trouble while knowing he was alive and she was having a relationship with him while his wife and children were heartbroken. She did so much more but it's too much to write. Yes, Carly married Jason because she thought Sonny was dead, which Nina could have told her many times he was alive. Carly ended it with Jason the minute Sonny came home. I know Carly was rude when Nina called

Honestly, this storyline is beautiful, tragic, and hopeful all at the same time. Sonny is slowly starting to understand what he's done to Michael, Michael is making mistakes that he's going to have to look back on and sit in judgement on himself the way Sonny has for his mistakes, and Dante is standing as the voice of reason between both of them. You could already see the conflict on Michael's face, if Nina had stayed away five more minutes things might have been fixed. This is far from over but this is the first time I've seen a point of return for them, and it started as it should the father reaching out to the son. I think that when the lengths that Michael went to come to light Sonny is going to realize this wasn't just hurt anger and disappointment. This was a son who's soul had been crushed and was lost. If you listen to what Michael has been saying all this time he's telling people in no uncertain terms that he doesn't know which way is up. As far as he knows, his father has betrayed his own code on every conceivable level. It's the same code he taught Michael which means Sonny has betrayed not only his son, but the rules by which his son lives his life, he's betrayed the rules by which he runs his business in resorting to torturing Dex when he wasn't positive of his guilt. Sonny has always operated on the shadowy side of the law, but he never intentionally harmed someone unless they deserved it. What happened with A.J. was an anomaly because Sonny wasn't in his right mind, what happened with Dante was Sonny conducting business by the rules of his business. But ordering that Dex be tortured to get a confession which is what happened as far Michael and Joss know is a new low. For a split second Michael saw his father again and when Nina walked in he went back to questioning everything. Dante just came in and laid the smack down on both of them. This ends now because I've got shit to do!

Dante laid no smackdown. He got totally fooled by Dex and he should honestly know better than this. He knows that people lie all the time to protect his father. He's been shot at POINT-BLANK range by his father! He knows Sonny murdered AJ in cold blood. He knows that Michael killed someone in self-defense because of something that Sonny put in motion. He has seen people lie and cover-up the things that Sonny does, and he is still somehow clueless about this? He played right into Michael's hands by being so foolishly blind to the kind of person his father is. My respect for him is seriously dwindling.

Michael does not like Nina and he is justified....I am not above in my own real life holding a grudge...now with that being said, this was beautiful....Sonny and Nina can be the powerful couple, but Michael does not have to be okay with it....Sonny taught Michael how to hold grudges, Michael may not be genetically his, but he is most like Sonny out of Sonny's bio kids... although I feel the writers are going to make Sonny and Nina the victims and Michael will be the villain/monster, I will always root for him in this instance....stand your ground Michael!!

Michael is being a total jerk. Sonny's willing to meet him half way. Although as another poster pointed out, Sonny raised Michael to be this way. I'm disappointed in Michael though because I thought his ❤️ was more forgiving and better than this. Sonny has also done a LOT for Michael and loved him like a bio son. Hate to see this rift continue. Personally I think Michael's acting just like Carly. Both think the world should forgive THEM for unspeakable things but Sonny and everyone else deserves no forgiveness.

If this was real life, Michael never would have gotten over Sonny killing AJ let alone forgiven him. I wasn’t surprised that they made that happen but I was still shocked and appalled that Michael did it nonetheless, not to mention he immediately changed his name back to Corinthos. Then Carly, Morgan, Sonny, and everyone in town had the nerve to act like Michael had no right to hate Sonny and turn on him and turn on them for all conspiring to keep it a secret from him and protect Sonny. Michael had every right to hate them especially Sonny. Not to mention not Monica or any of the Quartermaines blinked an eye when he forgave Sonny and changed his last name back to Corinthos. I always found it so wrong how Sonny favored Michael when Michael isn’t even his biological child. Morgan always got the short end of the stick and Morgan’s resentment towards that was justified, especially considering the fact that HE WAS Sonny’s biological child. Morgan gets sent away to military school but Michael does not. So hypocritical when they claimed it was for Morgan’s protection but were like nope Michael’s fine. You’re supposed to love all your children the same. I'm having such a hard time rooting for anyone in this story. Sonny has done little but try to deflect responsibility for his actions, and Michael is really taking this whole revenge thing to a ridiculous level. I do think he has a right to be mad at Sonny for essentially taking Nina's side in the trial for Wiley, but he's acting like Sonny hasn't always made trash decisions. What, Michael, now that his trash decisions aren't serving you, you're gonna try to destroy his life? It's all just very silly and not that fun to watch imo.

Sonny is scum and I hope Michael finally sees Sonny for what he is and never forgives him, because Sonny will never, ever change and he'll never apologize for his crappy behavior. All the other times, Carly has always pressured her kids to take Sonny back into their lives. Without that influence, I hope Michael's done for good, but I won't hold my breath.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Sonny watched Michael have to relive his most painful moments on the stand, and then went up and testified FOR Nina and comforted her--and all so she could have access to Michael's child. And on top of it, Sonny won't ever apologize for that behavior. He'll never own it. That has more to do with it than the infidelity.
