Thank you for pointing me here, Saad! I love hearing about Steven. He was such a wonderful person, I wish that I had had more time working with him. Keep up the good work!

So much of your content hits me where I live. I like the touch on extra musical inspiration. In regards to Implied Airs, I have always been in love with hammering on a string and while the bridge side sounds, one gets the nut side pitch. I think that's magical. It is comforting to hear the language used to describe microtonality. Often, I feel it's a mathematical exercise imposed on the listener, while there are those that use micros just because they sound cool. That's where I am at, tasting the "flavors of pitch". 45:18 and 50:00 are really good. too. Thanks

Another fascinating talk Saad...I was really impressed with the unique ambience that was captured in the musical excerpts; that natural church reverb in the Imaginary Airs-amazing!, and the various qualities produced in Our Options have Changed-brilliant! I also thought about the Stockhausen Helicopter quartet when I heard them under the bridge too...Great minds...but seriously, some great ideas here. I share A J.'s penchant for hearing music or 'chords' in everyday sounds...and I also think that there should be a series of concerts in unusual places; as composers we have to consider this ambience beforehand, and for the audiences they have an unforgettable experience-even if they are just passers-by.

I'm glad you got all of this out of this talk! The helicopter piece is definitely one that I go back to every so often to remind myself that it's definitely "all been done before"
