Meet My Forgelancer: Nonverbal-Jousting! First Impressions [PvM] & Exploring The New Island

The new Dofus Forgelance class has FINALLY arrived, and I'm having a blast learning them. In this video, I'll give my first impressions of the Forgelance, a little perspective on each elemental build (so far), and we'll run over and check out some of the new archipelago of Valonia Islands.

Some fun changes to kwismas Island as well. New tier gifts replacing all of the old ones. Good gifts for low level, great gifts for the medium and wonderful gifts for the high level. Gifts no longer drop based on prospecting, mobs got an overhaul (buffed). Presents have decent drops from what I can tell giving great and powerfull scrolls to ap runes and pet food. Pretty neat. Been farming whupper for gifts.

That's awesome to hear IVincexD, that's a combo I'm actually super excited for... I'm still too low to try a real hybrid build, but that's near the top of my list once I can get decent gear.

On the Umlauts for the new island (such as the name Händel), the way they made the name puns it actually makes more sense if you pretend that the words are just spelled without them (so like Handel instead). Butchering the words works best here haha.

Thanks VerikkarTV, appreciate that. I didn't realize Handel's pun until I was editing, that's why I slapped it on the screen... I'll be sure to correct that one while playing in the future. I love silly names, and Ankama does a great job coming up with them.

I'm playing agi lance on Draconiros and I'm 131 so far with no leeching but with 2x xp. It starts out with the highest damage spell for single target and pushes 2 cells. Which is pretty nice since you can push and summon the Lance in between to save some hp or do a bit more damage if the enemy is next to a wall. The agi worked fine at early levels but starts to shine when you get your third spell Noa at lvl 65. I recommend trying it out after 65.

So i leveled my lancer up to 200 and have been having a blast with it in pvp and pve, lots of aoe spells at 200. Have tried omni/crit for pvm and full agi for pvp. In pvm having all the grouping moves on your lance really works well as you then can hang back super far and hit hard-hard on everything you bunched up. In pvp it has alot of "sticky" spells because you can teleport to your lance at 4 range and leap around with lunge, or rotate the enemies and flip them over walls. just a matter of getting used to them :3

Interesting Luna... did you find any particular element you liked the most? I could definitely see how omni would work really well, since you have so much movement abilities.

@@Benjamight Agi and chance have the best synergies. But I could see just about anything working with agi being the primary, it just has the most spell options that work at long range. Could see in a melee team running int/str though as your not going to hit friendly targets like you do/can with agi.

It’s odd but fun class , Forgelance for some reason it close to hupper class I really enjoyed playing it , still learning it . Ahh yes , chance was the best option , after that I think it’s strength , intelligence and agility was something off about them , but the more I play this class the more it’s like a knight .. keep the team close to him to protect and enemies far , I think all this push and move will be clear how to use them later on , after playing for a while . Thank you, it was interesting video , didn’t expect it you can solo some of the mob , that was fun

Thanks for the feedback Sora - I agree, they are very unique. I know I'm still very early game, so it will be interesting to see how the play as I climb levels. What level is your Forgelance so far?

Level 43 forgelance , about spell Epilogue you don’t need to click on the lance to recalls it , click on the player the forgelance , that’s will let you recall it if you so far from it , didn’t understand how to kills target effect works with the spell .

18:40 Ben, thats a bug related to the dmg previews. Its happening since the update. Looks like its especially bugged when using AoE spells. Turn dmg preview off to avoid this. Its also not related to just this class btw.

It's so weird it wasn't doing it before the update... hopefully they'll patch it. Nice to know I'm not the only one running into the issue though, thanks for the work-around. Appreciate that Eslix. :-)

I've been leveling a lance from scratch and at first I too thought chance was probably going to be the best. However I recently just switched from chance to str/int ( lvl 63 atm ) with a full rebel set and other str/int pieces and I can 100% say without a doubt you should give str/int a try. I too hate forced pushback spells and didn't bother with int or agi but after seeing the potential of int as a secondary hybrid element it really grew on me. The level 55 spell "Muspel" is too strong not to use and the later int variants look incredibly promising aswell ( there's potential for a str/int infinite range build because both str and int have an infinite range spell ). Str/int also has the incredibly strong advantage of switching playstyle mid-combat going from full melee to full ranged without any restrictions or making it awkward to use. Deffinately give it a try :) ! -Excynic ( IGN: Missiz-Lance for those wanting to add me for questions ).

I JUST got switched to a cha/str set last night, so I think I'm going to give that a go for my next video, and I have an agility plan for right about mid-60s... but I'll be sure to try out Str/Int at some point - you've peaked my interest!

I really love the new island Albuera. You say it reminds you of Vikings. Well I'm pretty sure the island is based on Scandinavia, probably Sweden and seeing the new low level set, you are probably right. I have a new favorite area in the game. Too bad it's not huge like frigost.

I'm still VERY early in the area... were you able to explore a lot of the islands solo Wesmaster? I'm a little nervous I'm going to need to sub my whole team to really get to explore it.

@@Benjamight I've only done a part of the low level island. I went to the other islands just to see how they look. It seems they are a bit smaller. My guess would be that most people need a team for those areas, atleast the dungeon. Knowing Ankama they probably implemented some sort of weird mechanic. But I don't know for sure yet.

I'm already stuck on the low level quests... my level 54 Forgelance isn't strong enough for one of the fights. I think I'm supposed to bring others to help, but hard to schedule something like that around my recording time. I might have to sub my team so I can continue. We'll see.

Hey Benjamight. I just wanna say that I love your videos and most often were watching them while playing Dofus myself. I feel like after watching your videos I may try and make some myself but will probably mostly do streaming. If you have any tips/tricks for that I'd greatly appreciate it.

That's fantastic XGC, appreciate the feedback, thank you. As for tips for Stream - #1... just start - too many people never start, and you'll learn a LOT just from practicing. #2 - engage with your viewers (even if the viewer count shows a 0... it's still good practice). I've seen many streamers just play the game and not talk except when something pops up in the chat - you'll need to get good at talking to yourself, as funny as that sounds. Even when you have several people watching the livestream, it's not uncommon for most or all of them to not be chatting - they may be just wanting to listen to you while they are doing other things. Yeah - I'm curious what I think of the class as I unlock more spells & gain more AP/MP. Currently, I would place them in the mid-range tier of fun factor (for me)... like a 3 out of 5, but we'll see as we continue. There are a lot of classes that start out rough but become a blast as you move up. Either way, I'm going to take everyone along with me on this journey. :-)

you can cast that dash forward spell on it too pretty sure it's at it's max range that first agil spell pushes back 2 spaces aswell i just see a nutral damage build pushback buil agil one would be sick

@@Benjamight Yeah can always turn it back on whenever you aren't playing the class. The feature is extremely nice for bosses such as war, where you don't want to phase her at certain points. I somehow managed to do her without that though (good judgement of my abilities as I only play hupper lol).

I made a forgelancer too and i was thinking which build is nice for endgame! im talking about 200 lvl cause i have xp multiplier so lvling isnt going to be a prob!

I wish I could love dofus like I did 15 years ago. Last year I reached level 200 and painstakingly earned 80mk. With that I can afford maybe 2 decent items so I just quit -,-'

I TOTALLY understand what you mean Damien, that aspect of the game can get very frustrating. Most of my endgame level characters are running around in very old/dated high level gear, just because of the cost of things - especially pebbles (but I think everyone knows my feeling about PvP pebbles...lol).

why you gain alot of xp from the gobbals like 40000 and 43000 i gain a very low xp from them even if i wear a wisdom set so what is the problem???

He has a times 3 xp multiplier so he will be gaining more xp over someone with out it

Hello ah med, yeah, like Luna pointed out, my character is getting a 3X multiplier since it has 2 higher level characters above it. Once my Forgelancer catches up to them though, the multiplier will decrease/disappear.

Hi Sophia, the servers feel pretty good at the moment - they merged a bunch of low population servers together, and with Update 2.66, they added a whole new set of islands & new class (Forgelance).

Not sure I could give an answer to the first question - I have no real way of knowing that. I can tell you there are loads of people running around Incarnam (the starting island) every day (not all bots...lol), but Ankama is the only one that could really answer that question. As for requiring a subscription, yes, to gain access to the entire game, it takes a subscription, but at $6 a month, it's probably one of the cheapest subscriptions I've played for big MMOs. But to each their own on that. :-) Hope that helps Sophia, Benjamight
