I’m glad to hear you had a good experience shopping from CD Japan. Several times I started to place an order, but the site looks so janky 🥴. I grabbed some Z-series brushes from the Visage sale and absolutely love them. Squirrel is good for sensitive/dry skin, and I have to remember not to let them come in contact with liquid foundation. So if my foundation is still tacky, I use a goat/synthetic brush to set it, then use squirrel to apply the rest of my powder products. The seamless blend is gorgeous 😍

Speaking of cleaning brushes, I got a makeup eraser dupe from target. After washing & drying it before use I found that it didn’t keep the same softness. It’s soft but not super soft on my face so I found another use for it. So, I use it for my eye brushes 😂🤣. It’s perfect for that purpose. It removes any residual eyeshadow off my brushes without causing the bristles to fray or change shape. It’s amazing!

Sara Fetene I use my makeup eraser for the same thing. I didn’t think it washed my face well enough or even remove makeup without a lot of rubbing. But I really like it as a brush towel!

This video came up in perfect timing!!! I just bought 3 hakuhodo brushes and I want to expand my collection! I love paddle brushes that are slightly floppy. I would love to see any comparisons from Sonia G or Wayne Goss to the Koyudo BP017 even if they’re not exactly the same. It’s hard to gauge how thick or long the hair bristles are and because Sonia G and Wayne Goss are more affordable, more people probably have those versus the higher priced brands. I can just imagine how soft the bristles are as you were buffing them against your skin! 😂 I cant wait for your next brush video!!

Very helpful lesson on the use, care and storage of these brushes. No one has talked about care when storing the brushes. I have invested in some Wayne Goss and cream foundation brushes. Good to hear about using synthetic brush to apply cream or liquid and then buffing with the natural hair brush. I am looking forward to your washing video but I invested in a different drying rack. Keep up the good work.

Hi Fancy: I have the BP 013 Foundation brush and love it for applying Bare Minerals foundation. Also have the FU-PA 02 brush for liquid foundation. Both are excellent brushes. Will you be reviewing the new Koyudo brushes on Fude Beauty with the persimmon coloring at the top? They look so nice. Had been wanting the silver fox hairbrushes with the green ferrule but since watching your video, I may not. Went on the waitlist for the three very expensive silver fox brushes....SF 001,002 and 003. If you love Japanese brushes, I think you would definitely interesting to try Koyomo brushes. Their goat hair brushes will exceed your expectations about goat hair. Even the most cheapest set of their brand - the pink pearl handle set have almost the same feeling of Saikoho goat hair! This brand is available on CDJapan.

Oh! The FO-7 isn't as pointy as it looks on the website (or at least not after it's washed)! I'm suddenly interested in that one now! This is why I love watching fude brush videos because they're so expensive and I want to make sure it's the right fit for me before I buy it. Like, for example, I recently got the Koyudo Blueberry Walnut brush and I didn't pay attention to the size dimensions. It literally fits in the palm of my hand! :D I ended up loving it anyway, but that's not always the case. I definitely want that pine squirrel brush now. I agree that CDJapan has the best price all around (combining points with their coupon offers) but VisageUSA has the better price when they have a sale. Oh, and you already have a new brush rack now but have you seen the BRUSHBAR from Kit + Hooks? It's a brush stand that has different size silicone holes that you can place your brushes standing upright without having the bristles touching each other. The official one is $25 but I got mine from Amazon for $9. Jaybirdwalking (another Fude lover on youtube) uses them in her videos and that's how I found out about them. EDIT: I just bought the Pine brush hahaha. I was about to buy from CDJapan but Beautylish surprisingly had it slightly cheaper (and free shipping without having to spend 12000 yen).

Yep, it's not pointy at all which was my concern as well. It's a really good pencil brush. Agree with you on CDJapan and VisageUSA sales. Now you have to share the Amazon link because that BrushBar looks awesome! Hope you enjoy the pine squirrel brush, I think I got mine from Beautylish as well.

This has been informative, I am still considering all the factors such as price, storage, care, personal preference and needs in order to decide what to invest in. I know for sure that goat hair is itchy for me even Sonia G’s so I’ll try the dyed goat hair next followed by fox then squirrel. Do you find that the dyed goat hair is softer than undyed? I think they need to invent a fan brush for highlighter made out of blue squirrel. I’d buy that.

Wow you have sensitive skin. Dyed goat is a little softer but also not meant for liquids. Only have one Wayne eyeshadow brush #4 in squirrel hair. It is very soft but too soft for me.

I wish I could get the p8, but I have very oily skin. No squirrel hair for me. But, I recently got the large and medium Koyudo fox hair brushes. I've had the Takumi T1 for a while now. I hope you like it. If you do, you should try the Rephr P22. It has the same hair quality, but shorter hairs. It's basically a dupe for the original Tom Ford bronzer brush, but with Chikuhodo saikoho instead of Hakuhodo saikoho.

I'm surprised that was your first time on CD Japan. I got my pink handled Koyudo FuPa 1 and 2 from there early last year. I heard about them from Fude Kyun years ago.

It's probably not a crowd pleaser but I am very interested in your opinion about Bisyodo brushes, and the difference in softness across brands, I have been eyeing them for a while but there is nothing about them on youtube. I only picked up a couple of the Bisyodo brushes. They are very soft and the handles are exquisite. I think Koyudo has the softest goat hair of all the brands I’ve tried so far.

Hi Tina, these were very informative. I didn't know there were fox and squirrel hair brushes.
