Mama Mai, I loved hearing about how your family escaped from Vietnam and how you were rescued by the U.S. Navy. Our country is a nation of immigrants which is what makes us such a special and unique place. I'm so glad that Jeanie felt growing up that American's were kind and generous. I know that is not always how every immigrant family feels, but I do believe there are so many welcoming people here. We should all keep in mind that our families were all immigrants at one point or another. I hope you continue to share more stories about your life in Vietnam and your life as a young mom in a new country. I think there is so much wisdom and many lessons we can learn from you.
@HelloHunnay5 жыл бұрын
THIS 👏Thank u for saying this. #Vietpride always
@TheTuellfamily5 жыл бұрын
@@HelloHunnay that's a beautiful thing. I think it's important to hold on to our cultural traditions while also embracing American culture. I think it's awesome that your mom made sure you learned Vietnamese. My grandfather came to the U.S. as a young boy from Columbia in the 1940s. His family settled in North Florida where there wasn't a large Hispanic community, so they were more about assimilating in order to fit in, and as a result the language and traditions weren't passed on to the following generations. I remember going to Miami with my grandfather when I was around 8 where he would speak Spanish with people, and I thought that was the most amazing thing because he always spoke English at home. You have a beautiful family and an incredible story of the American dream coming to fruition. Thank you for sharing!!!!

If you live together and you don't come home your usual time, it's only natural for people to worry. This is a scary world we live in and women go missing!!! My mom is a widow and I'm unmarried so I live with my mom. She's like my bestfriend and roomie lol. If I am out late I would at least give my mom a heads up so she isn't concerned that I am kidnapped or killed. I didn't care about this when I was younger but after my dad passed away, our family been a little more cautious.
