I just found out about Neerja now. It made me cry to watch the short so I wanted to learn more. I read the comments about her story as a film but being in my car I could not watch it. Instead I put on another documentary then another and 2 hours later I am under a shade tree with my 4 dogs crying in a McDonalds parking lot asking why?? Why such a good woman needed to die? This hero needed to be given honors and she needed to teach so many about courage, acting in spite of fear and threat because it is the right thing to do and being blessed. Forgive me as there are many faiths here. I mean no disrespect. As a Christian I believe she was a Guardian Angel of God. Sent to protect, comfort and heal many. I am 60 years old, an American woman and I have seen many stories of heroism by women in many countries and times. Neerja brought me to tears because of her age and the many obstacles she encoklmuntered yet, she did the honorable thing and put others first in spite of terror and threat. I will not let her go uncelebrated and not honored in history. I am so inspired by her I pledge to write a book and school curriculum on Women's Studies of Inspirational Women who changed the World. There have been many intelligent women who have given us inventions, cures, weapons, teachings, battle wins and changed laws, medicine, the internet, war and saved lives. Neerja deserves to be noted among them for her choices, courage and sacrifice to save strangers. Blessings for all who hear her name. I hope I can honor her properly. Thank you is not enough we must be moved to action, become greater then ourselves and rise up with the power God has created us with.

Are you comparing actresses to a martyr? This makes no sense whatsoever. Even I can say that Einstein was much better than Shahrukh Khan. How does that make sense? If you're talking about beauty, that's sad. It's sad that even after all the heroic acts that she performed, you aren't able to look past the superficial traits. What if she wasn't stereotypically gorgeous, would that make her heroism any less commendable?
