Regular little beauties! Can you mention some differences in personality, character et al, between Red-Rumps... and Budgies?

A few days ago we noticed a Red Rump in our backyard; his tail is quite short, so I assume he might be a young one. We live in the Wide Bay area of Queensland. Loved your video of your beautiful birds.

It is also moulting season at the moment so its tail might be growing back.

I have one male Red Rump that's 1.5 years old but never had so much flight time outside the cage, so I'm not sure if he's flying speed is slow as is, or do you find that they are just as fast as the other grass keets and Cockatiels?

Fingers crossed they are successful next breeding season!! My male is a right pest to my cockatiels when they breed and he removed a toe on a baby java sparrows too! Yet he shows no interest in the blue female I got for him!! Unfortunately she is now a 1 legged red rump as she badly broke her leg after getting tangled in string!

My Male is ok, it is the female who is a pest (and a killer) to the other birds.

Hi, my red rump is a just over a year old and is mostly yellow but has a yellowy green back with red speckles all over its back. How do i now what gender it is.

This lovely video just answered my question, I have a green female and want to get her a boyfriend, I wanted to know if she would get on with a yellow red rump. Seems so.

Red rumps are very intelligent birds but they are aggressive as well

Agreed. However, mine is very scared of us, and we don't know how to fix that

They are very hard to tame if you don't raise them by hand.
