After watching this, I have no words. I went through a similar experience here in the Netherlands but they couldn’t get it right to take my daughter away from me. They talk about developing countries behind behind and corrupt but they have the biggest organized crime network . This angered me so much because I lived through this! Never underestimate a mother love!

I actually followed the story when it actually happened back in 2011. I couldn't believe the reason of displacing the children. Norway broke an Indian family. What is surprising is that they placed condition of divorce to give back the children to their father. As usual husband & inlaws agreed which obviously refused by wife. I read several Norweigian blogs at that time. The careworkers accused of not giving the elder boy good quality beef. They are so illeterate they dont even know Hindus di not generally consume beef. Also they accused mother of giving curd rice (bengali mixes rice with curd). Norweigian don't consider it as food. My goodness. All scandanevian countries are same. If anyone wants to live better better live alone. Or if your luck runs out you will loose your children forever. For Sagarika's case if Indian govt did not intervene she would have never got back her children. And ovbiously her husband left her like a coward.

This is so shocking. I am a mother of 1 and I cannot Imagine my kid being taken from me. I am living in UK and I am from Pakistan. Upbringing of children is quite similar to Indians. We feed kids with hands, keep them in our bed when they are little, like literally my son is sleeping on my left arm while I type this text..etc. I am so sorry that this mother and many other mothers who have gone through this torture. It breaks my heart that a desi mother who is naturally and spiritually attached to her kids had to face this horrible living hell to get custody of her children which she kept in her womb for 9 months. Remind me never to visit Norway or Sweden!!What absolutely deplorable treatment of this Indian mother by Norwegian Social Services and other agencies. As for the Indian in-laws- that’s a whole other story of dishonesty and trickery! This brave, intelligent woman appears to have been conned by so many people that she had put trust in - her husband, her in-laws and the government of her adopted country … the real victims however were the small children wrenched from their mother and deprived of her love for 3 years! Shame on all who supported, enabled, perpetrated and gained from this human rights violation.

People can follow their own culture, life style, etc in foreign lands - provided they are not harmful to host country/ or unlawful. And in this German case, the court didn’t find anything against the parents. A case of negligence/ accident led to snatching away the baby.

@@devshreebhardwaj3096 "Economic opportunities" is another term for lack of integration, refusing to adapt, and bringing in your old outdated and limited ways of thinking. It's no secret that many immigrants beat and abuse their kids. I'm sure Germany and other European countries have had thousands of cases where this is the case. Do you blame them for taking precautions and/or acting in such a way? And you act like India, Pakistan and other such countries are perfect and never do anything like this. Human rights violations are common in that part of the world. If you hate Europe, and European ways so much, why go? Stay in your country and create your own opportunities, or fix your country. Stop expecting Europe to change their laws and traditions to accomodate you. Immigration is not a right, it's a privilege. Europe doesn't owe you anything.

It's a world wide problem. This also happens in the Netherlands! The moment your children are born you have to watch out. Everyone has the right to make a claim you are abusing the children also strangers. When the claim is made the investigation will begin. And it's hard to get your children back via court, because court believes cps always, cps are the so called eyes for the judge. It's all about money! This is legally kidnapping your children 😢 Sagarika's story is heart breaking! Like so many parents go through this😢

@@dianad1263 yes, i have experienced it myself. I was lucky I got out of it. I know to many people who experience it. I mezelf know someone who works as a cps. That person told me everything how they work. It's scary how they look at families and the home where they live. I got lucky because i had enough evidence that cps wasn't fair, and that i am a good mom. The judge was also easy on me because i had to many evidence. There are also not many people, who knows what mother's go through in woman's shelters. If you hear their story's you will get the shivers. What you also don't hear much, are how many mothers kill them self. Because the stress is to much, and this happens in woman shelters. You can look it up on you tube, how kinderbescherming (cps) takes away children from parents. The kids don't want to be separated from their parents. It's heartbreaking!

@@dianad1263 no, everyone with kids are targets. I heard they get about 2000/3000 euros per child, when they removed them from each home. If you hear the reasons why they are removed, it's ridiculous! And when they are removed, then the real abuse wil begin with your kid. And nobody wil help them. Also foster parents get money for this, they wil get abused, raped etc... It's a big problem! And when the kids turn 18 years, the are free and end up in the streets! All of them are involved in this. Your doctor, therapy you go to, schools. You have to be careful how you behave and say around them. I myself Don't trust any soul in this world anymore. We met an Indian couple many years ago who had recently moved to our area in the US from Norway. They had a son who was about 6 and they often spoke of how awesome Norway was and frequently wore Norwegian style sweaters. They didn't find much success in the US and ended up moving back to Norway two years later. I think the moral is, Norway is a fine place as long as you drink their Kool-Aid.

Norway got problems with ppl from other countries. Don't take their children away if they don't agree with the way they are been raised, is different cultures. Sad that ppl go to that country seeking better opportunities but instead is a nightmare

Laws are made for people, not the people for laws. Authorities should show some intelligence while solving emotional cases like this. Authorities r humans & have brains & heart. Use them. She is a diamond lady who refused to take compensation even after such trauma. Special thanks to Indian Govt for standing with this diamond mind & gold heart lady. Lots of love from Pakistan.

Who set this rule in Norway, excuse me 'children first'? They should put the money on parenting support instead of costing to the foster family.

No, the main culprit was the husband - his toxic behaviour was why there was a complaint about domestic violence from the neighbours, and that triggered visits from social workers. But he's living the good life (more 💰, better living standards) in Norway.

This is very troubling to say the least. It literally makes no sense. If she was abusive, why would you be dying to get your kids back all to just abuse them. I actually think if she acted like they wanted her to such as give up and walk away, that’s more crazy to me.

@@cg8397I've read several articles about the case online. Generally the journalism is poor and sensationalist. What is clear is what I said. After succeeding in gaining custody of her children, she and the children returned to India in 2012. However she left the children in the care of elderly relatives, even moving to a different town. I can understand economic pressures to work and provide. But the whole story does not add up. Of course the 2023 film had to make her the victim to serve the narrative film sales and fit the Indian government's nationalist agenda. It is sad that Indians, with so much history, culture and education, could not have produced a more reflective and nuanced film. So many Indians seek to migrate and have limited understanding of how things work. Often after a few years of working abroad, men return to India to be married. Their new brides may not be familiar with life in the West (usual scenario). The women may be housebound, stuck with young children without an adequate support system. That reality could have made for a more balanced film.
