@@drewjenn9819 trans men are not “females wishing to be men”. They ARE men. Same goes for trans women but in reverse obviously. The media hyper focussed on trans women and always has, but is trying to do so in a more balanced way to make up for their wrong doings (bad past representations of trans women or hyper fixation on the “shock” value element for cisgender audiences) lately. Cisgender just means someone who isn’t transgender. There are not actually more trans women in the world than trans men, but since trans women deal with a lot more push back than trans men, you hear about the former more. I agree that the media should focus on trans people of all genders but since trans women get the most hate, it’s fair that they want to represent trans women in a balanced way more often than trans men. Also, trans men are not seen as a threat or even read as trans nearly as often as trans women. If a trans man doesn’t pass, then ppl may interpret him as a tomboy but no one is really offended by them. Whereas if a trans women doesn’t pass, her life can be in danger, bc it is not socially acceptable for people who look like men to dress in feminine ways, and it is under attack more and more with all this anti-trans legislation and twisted hate.

A typical side effect of puberty blockers and transsex hormones is permanent sterilization. To oppose this for minors is not unreasonable. I can't believe that a society with a long, ugly history of eugenics isn't suspicious of puberty blockers in teens, just because they are not "gender-typical." So what if they aren't? Should only cheerleaders and football players have kids? This has gotten absurd. Choice means the choice to be a birth parent someday. Some people decide to do that in their 30s and 40s, and had no idea they would want to when they were only 16.
