It had serious production issues and basically had to be redone. At one point it was supposed to be live-action? Check the wiki artical. It was a hugely expensive movie due to it's horrible mismanagement, and ultimately a big financial failure.

I can't confirm because I don't have the book anymore, but I feel like I remember in one of the novels for this movie it said the reason Stith walk with her legs bent like is because she's so tall that she has to constantly squat down to fit most spacecraft corridors. Like imagine living in a McDonalds playplace and having to awkwardly shuffle along in a squating position to get anywhere. Better yet, imagine spending years in college ("I am educated and well read!") only to find yourself living in a McDonalds playplace where you're constantly having to do grunt work outside of your field and job description, everyone else are raccoon-sized little assholes, at least one of whom goes out of his way to push your buttons every chance he gets, AND you have to awkwardly shuffle along in a squatting position to get anywhere. I really can't blame her for being pissed all the time

@Lord_Poyo
@Lord_Poyo 4 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that colleges are a gateway. You go to college to make it easier to get in. Without colleges, we would only have the old guild/tradesmen system where you could only get into a field if you were lucky or got trained by a professional in need of an apprentice. However, there are problems with trying to use that system nowadays. First is the time. It can take much longer and harder to learn on the field because your journeyman may be too busy to focus on helping you. They might end up just giving you a task and walking away. Second is accessibility. Needless to say, you would only be able to take on an apprenticeship if you are local to the place. If there is nowhere near you, then you have to gamble by traveling and hoping you get it. Third is the competition. Many jobs are oversaturated with newcomers now. There is such an abundance of people that if we did use this, many people would be jobless because now the journeyman/business has to take on far less new hires because they KNOW the people coming in don't know much. Nowadays, when they hire someone, there is an assumed amount of knowledge known because the new hire went through college, which means less training and less required attention. This means more hirings can be done. Fourth is complexity. Some jobs out there are far too complex to be taken up by apprenticeships. Rocket science would be one of them. Through a non-college education, anyone who wants to be an advanced physicist would have to progress through every single stage of science to ensure they acquired all of the knowledge to get there. College speeds up this process. Truth be told, colleges are basically the old guild system, but they lean heavily towards training knowledge over experience to prepare people for the field work. They did this back then, but to a far less degree. This was actually the transitioning phase from guilds to colleges. There wasn't enough work for practical experience, but that doesn't mean people couldn't learn.

Write a fanfiction (or two or three, etc.) about it. Maybe others will add to what you write. Maybe (I can dream, can't I?) it'll eventually possibly get the attention of someone who *might* do a side story (or series) in the Titan A.E. universe. Maybe a visit to Gune's planet and/or to Stith's planet? Things go badly pear-shaped (maybe due to unintentional -- or intentional -- misunderstandings) and nearly turn one or both planets into anarchies (temporary or permanent). Then see where it goes from there. Maybe Preen has a sister who's been looking for him (not for happy reasons), discovers he's dead, and says, "Thank goodness. I thought I'd have to wring his dishonest, sarcastic neck myself. What do I owe you?"

I work as an Aviation Maintenance Engineer, essentially an aircraft mechanic. M2 so I work on the larger fixed wings, it required 2 years of college where you were required to maintain a grade of 70% and above with a 95% attendance. After that, 2.5 years of work as a Aircraft maintenance technician getting a logbook of tasks 70% filled. After that, submit the book for approval and then do another exam, in our case being Canadian a CARs exam. Now you have your license. After that? If you want the ability to sign an aircraft off as airworthy, you need endorsements. 4-8 week courses about a single aircraft, loaded with exams of course. Once complete youre now endorsed on that aircraft type and can get your ACA, airworthiness certification authority so you can inspect and sign off tasks as complete and airworthy. Thus far I am endorsed on the B737NG and B777-200/300 with both GE90 and trent powerplants. In our case, its a hell of a long process loaded with recurrent training.

I think in corridors that low (normal for a human), she's basically duck-walking. Try it; squat down with your knees out, and swivel from the hip joint. It aches like h*ll, which is why she's so cranky, but if I had to guess? Her species are incredible jumpers. Like, kangaroos turning green with envy. Kinda makes you wonder what kind of planetary environment her species evolved in to have that kind of adaptation.

I swear, it’s like a college dorm room on this ship and man is it funny. Classic character tropes left and right but done so correctly that I laugh at the idea that this film could’ve gotten anything lower than an A rating. I mean, Christ, look at that animation! The way they actually took the time show distinct and obvious differences in the alien species, and even as far as to use CGI to show how menacing the Dredge are. Very few films can leave this kind of impact on me, and yet somehow even the most ridiculous animated film can leave an impact, good or bad.
