Atlanta. A DD-D Or destroyer destroyer. I got it and have been trying to learn the ship and it seems that best situations are as you showed - against close range DDs. Also I find it to work against cruisers as your AP in close quarters melts citadels. And on top of having more guns on target, you also get 3 salvos out against cruisers 1 salvo.

the atlanta is a fun ship. once you learn how to aim with it, your damage will go up dramatically. also, learn to park behind islands letting your team spot for you as the atlanta can shoot over most islands. this way you punish while staying hidden the whole time. if you think the atlanta is deadly wait till they add the Flint. it is an atlanta with longer range torps and smoke screen.

I will admit, I find Atlanta players really frustrating to fight since they can just pelt you behind islands and you can’t see her. I’ve even turned my American DD Mahan into an Atlanta hunter and my AP does increased damage.

I absolutely hate that ship!! I'm trying to get the Iowa, so I have to painfully drive through with the Colorado. OMFG!!! When I run into this ship as a BB I usually get at least four fires and maybe half my health. It's bad when my overpens and pens do next to nothing with BB HE taking at least 5 volleys to set a fire that will shortly be put out. To all players, if you see an Atlanta together, kill the Atlanta fast.

From my experiance the alanta dose shit dps its a fire bug it can set 2x to 3x fires in 2 salvos on BB but the real problem is as a BB as a alanta starts to light me up every fucking other enamy BB start to find me for some god afull reason.

I currently have 420k global xp I'm saving to buy the Suzuya. After battling several Atlanta's and watching this demo I'm considering buying the Atlanta for 500k juxtaposed to the Suzuya at 750k. I would like more info on Atlanta's torp and AA capabilities. And I can't help but notice that the enemy Atlanta didn't care nearly as well. Why would anyone in their right mind fire AP from such low caliber guns with such a high rate of fire? Bad skipper. Thanks for the review Spartan. Atlanta vs Suzuya......Any thoughts? All opinions welcome 😁.

As annoying as Atlanta can be, she still is nowhere near as toxic as Belfast, she doesn't have smoke, and her orbital strike shells means that if you're a cruiser or even a nimble BB and you are a good distance away, you might see a lot shells flying your way, but you at least have a fair chance to dodge, unlike Belfast which gets a flat trajectory and smoke to camp in, and she has much less HP than Belfast, and her weak armor means that she can't tank shells good, and her turrets get destroyed easily. So love it or hate it, I think Atlanta for an HE spammer, is still manageable and is balanced because there is still some skill required to be able to survive despite not having the luxury of smoke.

Destroyers are broken as is, now I feel like we have a broken Cruiser, let's hope the German line gives us some much needed Battleship love (Edit) I wish Battleships could cause flooding if they hit below the waterline on low armor ships. That would go a long way towards balancing things

My guess would be what it says, it's still a cruiser, so cruiser benefits. But destoyer speed ,mobility, this makes it specially designed to kill dds and cruisers.

The guns are destroyer-caliber, but it's still a cruiser, so it still benefits from cruiser skills.

magnificum dominum it benefits from general cruiser skills, but you need to check whether the skills say cruiser or gun caliber. If the captain has one of those 140mm+ buffs it will not apply to the Atlanta

The Altanta Class was originally designated as "Destroyer Leaders". A Destroyer Leader is typically a ship which can be described as an oversized Destroyer that is intended to, as the name suggests, lead other Destroyers into battle. You don't see very many ships like this because the Light Cruiser kinda made this Ship type redundant.

@@Pizza4eversf It is currently available at the end of a long series of challenges they call a Campaign. It's been going since sometime last month so if you haven't been doing them it's probably too late to get it now. Not sure when the Campaign actually ends. The catch to the whole thing is that you have to spend gold to buy "Admiralty Backing" which enables all of the rewards that are actually worth anything and that includes the Atlanta herself. Otherwise you'll only big getting mountains of Commander XP after every challenge.

I've never found secondaries to be useful. They always just act as a warning alarm. At least so far. They're very inaccurate which is my main problem unless you're point blank.
