I’ve always known about Benjamin Banneker when I took AP African American history while I was in High School during the Mid 1980s. There are so many great black inventors such as Granville Woods who developed the railroad telegraph that transmitted messages. There was also Elijah McCoy who developed a device that lubricate steam engines. The history of black America is there, it’s just so much of are history is not taught. You have to take it upon yourself to look for that knowledge, because we have contributed so much to building this country. ❤

The narrator spoke the words that this proved that intelligence was not a matter of color, but colonizers saw the inventions in Africa first hand and deemed the people barbarous in nature. Not only did they snatch these intelligent human beings from their homes but also tried some many times to dumb down their existence. Still the laureate and poet Maya Angelou wrote,”And Still I Rise.” Thank you to all who have proven time and time again that humanity started in Africa and will always be a beacon for the learned community.

Ooooo! Me and my youngest sister was just speaking about Sir. B. Banneker. Noooo, he’s not forgetting. He’s a staple in my context (born and raised in WDC). I will speak about him beyond the grave (since his life’s work is part of my writings). Many thanks for this one! 🖤♠️🧩👣🗝️💝💯

I'm not surprised, because those slaves taken criminally from Africa, most of them belongs to the great civilizations from Nubio-Kemet-Egypt, Mali, Ghana, Songhai and they were the most intelligent men in the earth. Peace to their souls. We forgive but never forget.

@@tigerkhanshort3053 the French gentleman was always under the influence of alcohol and that is the reason why President Washington fired him.

So glad you did this video! I did learn about this in school (K-12), and again in college (US History course). I was lucky apparently.
