My back hurts seeing that "electric attic"

Holy crap that is some investment This was an interesting idea of mixing purpose built (with the gear choices, production types in mind) and versatility (big generator, big lift gate) I bet a lot of graphs and predictions went into the package, hope there is a marker for them

Hmm. Phenominal.. but Its got the abbatoir vibe a little. I was on a shoot last night and the grown ups where hanging in a retro camper with artistic noodling every where and a view of the sunset and the mortals slogging away. If I could afford £20k a day Id want a window??

What if I’m interested in hiring the truck but I have no money? 🤷♂️ Kidding 😊 I can’t imagine a truck this big on any shoot I do. I try to stay as small and light as possible, within reason. This size and scale of production environment is something that I am completely unfamiliar with. This truck seems perfect for music video shoots on location or shooting a commercial where you need a rolling production office for a very short period of time and everyone is at the same location. For longer feature film shoots it’s hard for me to imagine this being a good fit but again this type of setup is way bigger than anything that I deal with. I’d use maybe 1%-5% of what is on the truck and not feel the need for more, but I’m looking forward to hearing others’ thoughts who are more familiar than I am with larger scale productions. Thank you for making and sharing this video. I sincerely appreciate it. 😊👍

Right, this is more for a 1-2 Million dollar indie or a multi-day commercial. There is a place for it 😀

@@meetthegaffer [My production budgets] Director: “Oh noooo…. We went way, waayyy over budget yesterday.” (Producer: Why? 😳 What happened?) Director: We ordered 2 pizzas… and…. umm…someone added breadsticks to the order. (Producer: Ohhhh noooooo! 😩)

Hey Luke, did they say if that genny is crystal synch? Also, was the thickest cable 2 ott?
@meetthegaffer9 ай бұрын
I don’t know for sure, but my hunch would be that a new generator of this sort would have an electronically controlled governor to provide clean sine wave power for electronic ballasts and LEDs. Good question tho. Nick said yes when I asked if all the cable was banded, which in my mind is #2 theatrical cable, but it could very well be a combo of individual 2 ott runs and regular banded. Regardless, it’s easy to change the cable package to a give production’s needs.

@@meetthegaffer This looks like a good idea. I would probably pay for an extra genny though. Having a genny mobile without having to move the entire truck is key to lighting the next set that was pre-rigged. Here in Utah company moves are not usually across the street.

@666size666 No doubt you would need to add stakebeds and pick-ups to make it possible to jump ahead in certain situations.
@666size6669 ай бұрын
@@meetthegaffer I can't imagine a shoot (of the size I usually do) without stakebeds. And then when you go big, you're afforded a rigging gaffer and crew....which is a sweet gig. Same pay, no stress.

That tailgate made me rock hard and my butthole wet. 😮 Just kidding, I would never get sexually aroused by gear. I’m a professional. 😛 That’s a beautiful truck for sure. I would love to see it in real life. I have to wonder, though, about how much weight the electricians attic can take. Putting a car up there seems like a lot. The gate is rated for 10,000 pounds, but is the attic? Speaking of the gate again, how far does it go up? I was on this one job and in the late afternoon we were chasing the sun with shiny boards. We had them on stands, bagged the snot out of them, and prayed that the wind wouldn’t kick up. I went up on ladder to adjust them. Unsafe and dumb as hell, obviously. No shot is worth the risk.
