Meet the little Messi of chess from Argentina - 10-year-old Faustino Oro

Born in 2013 Faustino Oro is just 10 years old. But he is one of the most talented youngsters in the world of chess with a FIDE rating of 2357. At the World Rapid and Blitz 2023 we managed to interview him after the tournament ended. The boy is From Argentina and is called the little Messi of chess! We try and find out why is it that the boy is so talented. We ask him to analyze his best game from the World Rapid and Blitz for us.

@@zeusjean no quiero que se interprete como mala leche o racismo pero el acento hindu es muy dificil de entender cuando no se tiene el oido acostumbrado a escucharlo , luego de un tiempo tratandolos pues te adaptas , fausti aunque no habla un ingles B1 O B2 si se desenvuelve bien explicando las jugadas , con 2 anos de aprendizaje puede llegar a ser fluido , ojito aqui a los maestros que le pongan un tutor

Our own Prag and Gukesh were IMs at this age. Such prodigies are there in several countries. It is not fair to hype them unnecessarily at this tender age. With such prodigies everywhere, if we start hyping everyone as the futureworld champion then we will have lots of future world champions. It is an unrealistic expectation.

Faustino Oro is 2350+ in classic FIDE ratings and he is 10 since around 2 months ago. Pragg was IM with 10 years and 10 months and you were wrong with Gukesh, he obtained IM title at the age of 11 years and 9 months. I'm not saying he is going to be faster than Pragg or Gukesh, but he is not slower for the moment. Faustino is the youngest to achieve FM by ELO points.

Prag had become an IM at 10 years 10 months, so Prag had elo rating of 2400 by that time as well as three IM norms. By your logic Faustino Oro is ahead of Indian chess prodigies. In that case you should compare him with Abhimanyu Mishra of US, who became the youngest IM of all time at 10 years 9 months.

FM Tomas Kapitanchuk twitted in october 15th: "FM Faustino Oro celebrates his 10th birthday in style - he defeated Argentine #6 GM Federico Perez Ponsa!" So he was 10 in october 2023
