“There will never be another Wilt Chamberlain” - Magic Johnson
Wilt Chamberlain was born to dominate the game of basketball. He ran a 100 yard dash in 10.9 seconds, tripled jumped more than 50 feet and Won college BIG 8 high jump championship 3 years in a row. All while being 7’1 and 250+ pounds. Wilt was like combining Shaq’s size and strength, Zach Lavine’s jump ability and Russell Westbrook's speed into one person.
Today Wilt’s impact is undeniable and he’s still considered one of the NBA GOATs.

@@Glitchmelon well, to be fair, his dominance was because for the large part of his career, he was an on-court narcissist. His teammate almost fought him over it one year after they lost yet another finals due to his selfishness and he finally changed. But the most dominant if that era has to be bill Russell because, even without blocks being recorded, the man is far and above the best defender ever. He has the most defensive win shares, once again, without blocks taken into effect.

It’s by far the most ridiculous thing to bring up when who’s the better player debates come up. Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, and many more weren’t playing 5 on 1 and winning championships. Titles are given to the best team, not player. If it were actually vied that way, Bill Russell would be the best player in NBA history with 11 rings. Robert Horry would be better than MJ, Kobe, and Lebron. Rankings should reflect a player’s contribution for their team. Not what the teams they played for accomplished. And nobody put up numbers like Wilt

@@veracity5977 nah man, Wilt was shooting a lot of fadeaways, hook shots and jumpers while still leading the league in field goal %. He was voluntarily versatile even tho it decreased his points and field goal percentage by not just dunking it everytime. The physical edge, athletic superiority, his soft touch, competitiveness and innovative mindset would make him a goat in todays game as well. Just like other centers today he would adept his game to a more shooting based style (even tho he was already pretty close to it back then). Check out the video on KZbin where he effortlessly drains 4 hook shot threes in a row, he was known to be great at h.o.r.s.e.

@Vladimir Lenin I mostly value rings a lot more when talking about the top 20 or so best players ever. Obviously context counts because some players had better teams, but in the case of wilt, he wasn’t a good leader and didn’t have a winning mentality unlike Bill Russell. I dont just use number of rings to value how good someone is, but wilt only having 1 finals mvp is kind of weak including how he wasn’t a leader, and what I all said before. It’s not for example dames fault he hasn’t won a ring but you can put some blame on wilt, also with the far worse competition back then.

Wilt was not dominant. It is well documented that he just tried to rack up stats without benefitting his team. He wasn’t good defensively early in his career.
