I’ve never thought of Siegfried as being super competitive, but she is unique and that makes her worth collecting. Also I’ve started using Riegerwald. His penetration boost seems to make her penetrate basically everything short of angled Battleships.

Using 16/4 reigerwald as commander and 16/2 yamamoto as inspiration, you can get +21.4% ap pen multiplier. That means having an AP pen value of a 461.3mm cannon on the seigfried!

Oh I got Siegfried in a crate before Christmas and I can say she is my fav their 7 ship! My fav tactic is doing a battleship drive by and torpedoing the crap out of them! Even better is when you can get set up to drive by two of them one on either side of your ship and taking out both of them! Yes the bow is squishy but she can shrugg off a lot of damage too if the rng god is on your side!

8:15 She wasn't, she was apart of Hitler and the Kriegsmarine's Plan Z naval project. To build a navy to match the Royal Navy, needless to say Germany was never gonna come close, didnt have nearly enough resources to do so. Especially once the ground war with the Soviets got going. EDIT: Honestly, any of the higher tier german ships past like Bismark, Tirpitz, Shcharnhorst, Hipper, etc were apart of that project.

Also, fun fact, my mom watched a lot of British comedies in the 80's and I came within a gnat's butt hair being named the same as this ship. If she hadn't gotten a dog before I came along I'm pretty sure I would have been stuffed in a toilet every day after school with a name like that.

As a (former) Cruiser Main, German Cruisers are some of the best in the game. Especially if you build in for AP. Rigerwald is my favorite German Cruiser Commander and I typically spec in for AP/accuracy. Sometimes I even forget I have HE. Some of the most fun times are to lay in wait for an enemy cruiser or BB to come around a corner and just punish a broadside with multiple citadels. There is something to like on most cruiser lines but you almost cannot go wrong with almost any US or German Cruisers for AP punishment.

KMS Siegfried, together with her Tier 8 sister ship, KMS Ägir, are two of the planned O-class battlecruisers developed in Germany in 1937. As a result of Germany studying the buildup of ships from Britain and France, the Oberkommando der Marine (OKM) directed its focus to reinforce their navy with new ships. They were intended to be a further development of the Deutschland-class "pocket battleships," but faster and equipped with a larger gun caliber. These ships were primarily designed to operate against convoys, which would have forced Britain and its allies to use their capital ships to protect them. The Germans believed that this outcome would critically dissipate the Royal Navy's striking capability, which also means more fuel consumption and more convoy reinforcement assignments for the Royal Navy capital ships. The efforts of the German engineers resulted in the project of a battlecruiser nicknamed the "O-class," which counted 380 mm main guns installed on three dual-mounted turrets and a maximum speed of 34 knots as its primary advantages. The project was finalized by September 1939, but the cruisers were never actually built due to lack of resources and other priorities in shipbuilding construction. Siegfried is named after Sigurd was the son of Sigmund, a great and wise king. King Sigmund and another King, Lyngvi, had both pursued a young, beautiful princess named Hjordis, daughter of King Eylimi. In the end, Hjordis chose Sigmund over Lyngvi despite his advanced age, because of his age and renown. Lyngvi, infuriated, mustered an army and lay siege to Sigmund and his lands. Eventually Sigmund fell, but Hjordis was already pregnant, and she found refuge with King Alf, leader of a band of Vikings who had been nearby when Sigmund fell. He was the king slayed the dragon Fafnir, which allowed him to be christened as a great hero of Germanic myth, a member of the eponymous family of the Saga of the Volsungs, and (as Siegfried) one of the stars of Richard Wagner’s famous Ring Cycle.

Now I'm stuck between Sieg and Georgia. I got BA Tirpitz yesterday, and I do pretty well in it. 75% WR, nearly 1400 Avg XP, 80K Avg Dmg in 16 matches. Secondary builds are actually really fun. It's nice actually being able to hit my target with the main battery guns also. God knows you can't really do that with a secondary build on Bismarck. That's why I had some hesitation.

@@Derpitz96 what are you talking about Georgia is super squishy for a BB. Seigfried is not squish for a cruiser. She is squishy in relation to a BB. Georgia is for flanking and sniping. Seigfried is unique because she can sorta of do everything.

I just assumed it was tanky because it was a battleship. Thanks for the correction. It actually helped me make up my mind. Sieg is the choice.

Hyde is great on Siegfried I use him on Agir as well. When you get the health buff of his base trait then take porcupine, Marksmanship, MM, and FFWF thats one devious build when you have him maxed out.

It’s funny I finally get my hands on a pay premium BB, ( WV ) thanks to the generous gift of a 70% off coupon and suddenly I can hold my own, hold and push flanks and win more then I lose. I actually have great shell grouping, consistency in RNG and some decent range. Funny what a pay ship can do for your game and mindset. Now I’ll actually be a let to earn enough to upgrade more than one ship at a time and expand my fleet. This game doesn’t force you to pay anything, but if you don’t wanna go insane you definitely have to pony up.

I am thinking of using my Drachmas to buy Georgia or Siegfried. Which one would you recommend? I really like playing Heavy Cruisers but I have heard that Siegfried’s guns are not very accurate and are inconsistent.

Everyone says it has bad armor but regardless of what the armor viewer says I'm convinced this thing has Yamato turret face armor for a belt. I don't know what it is about it but I was getting bounces and shatters with 16in american AP at point blank range against this thing broadside or at the slightest angle. It shouldn't happen but it did. I can't explain it other than the guy in was playing terribly the whole match so I guess rnjesus was at his helm?
