Homemade Hot Shots & Fried Chicken Wings | Family Dinner
Hot Shots
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground pork
1 pound pork sausage
4 serrano peppers, diced
1 cup Velveeta cheese, cubed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and shape into ping pong sized sausage balls.
Heat oil in a pot over medium high heat. When ready drop in 5-8 sausage balls, depending on the size of your pot.
Cook for 5-7 minutes, until they are cooked through.
Serve with honey mustard!

Ill share a story. I grew up in a hunting and fishing family. Daddy taught us young to bait our own hooks. So the cheese we would use was Velveeta cheese. My mom could not get me to eat that cheese for nothing. Because it was fish cheese, and I would tell my mom , nope that's fish cheese I can't eat that. To this day I tell you, nope still can't eat it. Its for the fish only.lol

I had a electric slicer years ago and I used to love slicing the Velveeta block cheese it slices so smooth and evenly and the cheese slices look just like the slices of cheese in the store slice it with a knife the slices don't come out evenly but slicing the Velveeta cheese with a electric cheese slicer every slice comes out evenly and perfect

I prefer carrot sticks with my wings. There used to be a wing place here that severed carrots and cerly. When the husband ad wife retired, no one took over the place. Their wings were large meaty ones and amazing homemade blu cheese and ranch dressing

We have been eating a lot of wings at home too. We keep our big cooker in the garage and when we get it out and fill it with oil we use it until the oil needs to be replaced. It cost more to fill it up compared to a few years ago. We usually put salt, pepper and some BBQ seasoning on ours before we fry them. Yum.

I grew up in Buffalo NY, home of the Anchor Bar where WINGS were created! The real way is to deep fry, then shake in a bowl of 1/2 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup FRANK's Hot Sauce mixed together. Serve with ONLY BLEU CHEESE and celery sticks. Some places serve ranch dressing, but I do believe it is punishable by a night in the hoosecow!😊 Stay safe all. Sarah K.
