It's not only this man's voice that is captivating. It's his soul. There's deeper meaning to this man's giant spirit than any group of 50 other people combined. Most will never have the great honor to encounter a person like Rodriguez in a whole lifetime. A great big invisible beautiful soul, fully personified. We can see it. We can hear it. Some people will get the chance to hug it. Thank God they found it. Congratulations Sr. Rodriguez. As you said yourself, "Better late than never".

I thought I had found the last of my heroes back in the 90's as a teen... So ecstatic to find a new one! This 'artist', although a bit late being recognized, deserves every spotlight, smile and imitator he has long awaited! Cheers, Mr. Rodriguez!

Chris - Kurt was briefly high up on my list in 91 or so. I was really always more into Metal ie. Slayer, King Diamond etc. and once I felt that grunge kind of squashed the metal scene, I lost interest in Nirvana and a lot of the other Seattle bands.

I love this song!!! What a gifted musician, composer and singer!!! Shame USA did not recognize him in the 70´s. You missed him all these years.

Well, in America we had Dylan. And I’m not a fan of Dylan. But, you know what? He made it anyway and S.Africa can claim him as theirs. It is what it is and was what it was. Better late than never. I saw Sixto as a “Universal Artist” than somebody as a regional or states thing.

Extraordinary talent. Quite literally, only Sixto Rodriguez & the late Nick Drake have this degree of sensitivity within their lyrics. It really _is_ poetry in disguise.

Heard this in a record shop in Portsmouth a few weeks ago so bought it, just watched the Film. So sad that we didn't really have him all these years and if he had been picked up in the early seventies what other great songs would he have written. Somebody got some money from his record sales though, wonder where that went? a great man and modest too, with a nice family.

Holy mackeral. You're absolutely right. Sixto and Neil 'do' sing somewhat alike. I could definitely hear Neil singing this song too. But in all due respect to Neil (who I have seen in concert) I don't want to hear Neil sing this one. This is Sixto's song. He wrote it. He owns it. It almost seems like it would be a sacrilege for anybody else to even try to cover it now that Sixto has be "re-found". He deserves to bathe in his own thunder if you know what I mean. Anyway, good ear there.
