Today I want to show you another reason why you will fall in love with Bangkok, Thailand! We are heading back to Charoen Krung Road in search of new Thai street food dishes and new adventures!
I stumbled across this unbelievable 111 year old noodle restaurant (to be confirmed) and quickly got friendly with the master craftsman that is Loong Jai, who's father came over from Guangdong in Southern China in 1908. The only problem with that is he would have had to start selling noodles at 4 years old for the timings to work!
So even though there was some miscommunication (on my part) and I'm no good at reading a Buddhist calendar, that doesn't take away from the fact that the hand made noodles and dumplings here are some of the best in town!
We had:
Bamee Giow Moo Daeng Pu - Egg Noodles with Wontons, Red Pork and Crab.
The large bowl is 140 Baht, which is £2.80 / $3.35 🤯 Although it's more than most standard street bowls, this was hand on heart, top 5 bowls of these noodles that I've ever had!

I used to live in the area around 35 years ago when I was a kid and used to go out and buy this noodle dishes when I was hungry late at night.😋 This is by far my favorite noodle shop. He used to sell in a small alley nearby. I remember his equipment and method of cooking noodles. I finally found this shop and definitely will go back to taste it again. Uncle Jai said his father immigrated from Guangdong, China, 111 years ago. By looking at him to be in his late 50, or early 60s, he must have been born in Thailand, and that makes him Thai of Chinese origin. 🙂

Today we were there and it was simply perfection on the plate. We tried your recommendation and loved everything about that soup. After we said that we come because of your video he was really happy and gave us an extra of fried garlic AND the most delicious hot fried garlic with a heavy taste of lime leaves - we did not see it in your video. Today we followed in your videos footsteps and stopped here and it was well worth the trip on the BTS (and we got to see an area we have not seen so spend extra hours exploring). It was so good that i almost ordered another bowl but instead went to the dim sum place in your other video. We also saw your guys pictures on the wall of fame and got to talk to the owner.

there's a legendary fishball noodle restaurant called Sa-ad สอาด which means clean it's extremely good it's cleary on the other level if you compared to Chay4 but can't compare to the shop in the clip as it's a different type of noodles my dad took me to the place back in the day, they're already famous and already expensive back in my dad's day they have a noodle made out of fishball and ofc no tourists, my rec is the basic fishball noodle tom yum with chrysanthemum tea
