That's a fantastic Cape Dory 28' they're a good solid boat. With the right power, they'll get up and move, 22--25 knots. The Cummins Diesel B6TA 350 HP ,then cruise comfortable at 17kts.

Trying to decide between one of the Cape Dory Trawlers vs the C-Dory Cruisers. The Cruisers claim they only need 7" of water. Any ideas on how shallow the Trawler can go?

At 240 house that little boat should cruise at around 15 mph if not 20 .but at 7 , displacement speed, that yanmar should quadruple your mileage per gallon.

240 had to be a mistake.

@@chapter4travels The Yanmar 4LHA-STP says 240hp at 3300rpm, but I wouldn't want to run it that hard for very long. Give me low and slow and let it sip the diesel.
