i hope this episode gives you a good insight into trolling, we have been on youtube since 2007, thats 14 years of putting up with online trolling so i feel it gives us a kinda expert experience as we have been targeted so much during that time so i was really happy LIly was willing to come on here and tell her story and i hope her story reaches the right people.

so much empathy towards all of you for having an open dynamic and conversation about this- any form of bullying usually comes from internal struggles that doesn't make it right whatsoever- as someone who's been bullied it taught me to have empathy towards them- thank you for not being judgmental and knowing people make mistakes and can learn from them-as long as we hold ourselves accountable. its never to late.

She is extremely manipulative....she is trying to convey that she is super nice and giggly to hide her past mistakes. She tried to own this and she really didnt. She avoided the questions about trolling and turned into questions about herself. I understand she was not in a happy place while she was trolling, and that she was brave to come on here for this, but I still do not understand WHY she did it. She was unhappy? A lot of people are unhappy and do not resort to trolling. Jonathan and Anna were very calm considering this girl had been so hateful for so many years. They did better than I would have.

I’m not a mother yet but it didn’t sit right with me when she said that “you need to do something while breastfeeding” to pass the time. It made me feel awful that while she was feeding and nurturing her baby who solely relied on her for nourishment, comfort, safety and protection, she was destroying a stranger’s life halfway across the world, which just seems so hypocritical. And it’s like she is feeding her baby hate, because that’s all she was doing in that moment and transferring it to her baby. It makes me feel sad that she felt the need to do that firstly, and that her baby received that kind of energy so young. As I said, I’m not a mother yet but I’m hoping that some day when I’m breastfeeding, I’m “passing the time” with more positivity and healthy behaviours.

Jonathan doesn’t forget how these vicious trolls & guru gossipers have vandalised Anna’s car, left disgusting notes & stalked/harassed them at every turn. His income has been greatly affected due to a troll trying to impersonate Jonathan. I couldn’t forgive troll or guru gossipers that have done something that’s affected my income. Anna obviously isn’t as affected by the trolls & guru gossipers. Jonathan is more sensitive. Lilly seems to have learnt her lesson but the damage has been done. Don’t troll... change the channel instead. Everyone has a choice about what they watch. I’ve also been targeted by trolls & guru gossipers on Jonathan’s channel because I left positive comments, I was hounded. And at one point, the guru gossipers thought I was Anna & subscribed to my channel & left disgusting comments about my beautiful dog. They were relentless & it was very distressing for me. This was difficult to watch. She's right about one thing - she's NOT likeable. She displays narcissistic tendencies. She did not grasp the reality of her actions in relation to Adsense until Jonathan pointed out the repercussions of what she did and how it impacted their family. I personally found it infuriating how she joked about how she reported your channel to Google . I think Anna was being too kind when she said she was beautiful. Anyone who behaves in that way is not beautiful on the inside nor the outside. I cannot fathom someone breastfeeding that (poor) baby and doing what she did and passing on that negative energy to her baby. She is clearly a damaged person and to her credit she has faced the music and is getting the psychological help she needs. Make no mistake she is not healed yet and has a lot of maturing to do; it takes years and years of therapy. She is on the right path though and to use the over-used term, it is a journey. @@ccap3211 very true. Anna has a beautiful heart, but shes so eager to make this woman feel good about herself, as well as not feel bad about what she did, that she's practically the one apologizing! I can see why itd be hard tho. She's a very caring woman. A mommy and dog lover to boot, and this woman before her is no longer just a faceless internet troll, she's another human being, a woman her own age with kids the same age, showing genuine remorse and sadness.... It's in her momma instincts alone to want to stop someone from crying lol I'm glad she has Jonathan to balance her out tho. I'm often too easily forgiving and from this I gather she is too, and if you don't balance it somehow, you soon have a bunch of people in your life stomping all over you, and no longer have time for your true friends, who got pushed aside without you even realizing it, because they didn't need anything from you, and the people you're so eager to help are occupying all your time!

Nervous laughter is a widely known and accepted phenomenon in psychology. She is not laughing about what she did. I think it is extremely uncomfortable and upsetting for her to sit there and talk about her past behavior. She is obviously ashamed of what she did. To have to face the very people she hurt is extremely uncomfortable but she is doing it anyways because she wants to own up to what she did and try to provide insight that others can learn from. It totally makes sense that she would laugh out of discomfort.

I think the reason she diverts away from the questions and talks about herself a lot portrays that the trolling really wasn't about Anna and Jonathan... it was all about her. She was filling some sort of a void in her life - that doesn't justify her actions at all and the repercussions that Anna and Jonathan faced were clearly awful. But she was an incredibly hurt person who was suffering in her own way, and this was the outlet she chose to escape from this and was seeking acceptance from. They're like, "oh she's manipulating, she's self centered, she's not sorry, she's laughing, she keeps diverting from the question, making it all about herself, I don't feel sorry for her" etc... You guys, one thing.... YOU. CAN. NOT. CHANGE. THE. PAST. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course it's awful, of course they have a right to feel however they feel, but if I sat here and told you the things i've done in MY life in the past, you would be like oh yeah terrible person... And I 1000% feel that yes I was, and am, for those choices i made 5 to 10 years ago. But also that's not who I am today. I don't even know that person! So I don't think we should just say well whatever not worthy of forgiveness. Do i wish she would have said some things differently? Yes. But I do know it's obviously nerve wracking talking to two people who not only have a huge following and you know you're going to be broadcast to that following, but also two people who might not be so happy to speak with you. That would require some balls! Also i do think the laughter and the diverting from questions was nerves and also Attention Deficit - she did disclose she suffers with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and she clearly struggled to focus which is okay that's not somethinf that can easily be avoided unmedicated. I also think the "represent" comment was interpreted i don't think that's how she meant it and I actually thought she was a likeable person who was willing to own her wrongdoings, to stand in her shit and also apologize. How many people would get on there and do that? Yes it was wrong what she did, but you can't hold on to that when someone has changed! Reminds me of how the first two years i was sober and people would still act as if i was using or accuse. You start to think well damn if this is all I'm ever going to hear about or be associated with then i might as well go back to it. (Btw I didn't go back - 5.5 years sober today, by the Grace of God.) It gets challenging when you are really putting in the effort to correct those things and move forward to a positive future. Such a powerful podcast/video! Thank you for doing this. It couldn’t have been easy on anyone’s part. I think with most cases of bullying/trolling, it happens because of jealousy and lack of self worth. Feeling badly about ones self is such a difficult thing to overcome. Turning that self negativity toward others might seem like it makes the bully/troll feel better about themselves, but ultimately it’s going to produce more self loathing. I’m glad the two of you had the courage and insight to put this together. I’m glad the “former troll” has gotten help, and sees how damaging her actions were to the two of you AND herself. @@aylazelanagrebiel3210 'she strikes me more as a narcissist than someone with ADHD' that sentence right there is exactly what starts this internet trolling and bullying. People assuming they know something about someone simply by what they see on a screen, when in reality they know absolutely nothing about the person. As someone with Austism and ADD, and the partner of someone with Asperger's and ADHD, you should know better than most, how wrong it is of people to play Dr. Google MD. I'm sure you would not appreciate me saying to or about you 'nah she doesn't strike me as autistic, seems more like she's bipolar'. Seeing as your partner has ADHD, you should also know that Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and ADHD, have many symptoms that overlap, making it very easy for someone with ADHD to appear narcissistic, and vice versa. You don't know this woman, are not her doctor, have seen absolutely nothing of her life except for the one single hour that has been shown on this video. NO ONE is excusing her actions. Everyone agrees that what she did was vile and wrong. She's admitted and apologized for it. I'm just curious what else exactly do you expect her to do? I do not think you are trying to be a troll and this is really a response to far more comments than just yours, but I have to say this somewhere: I cannot fathom why the comments section on a video about the harm and destructiveness of hate on the internet is so full of hate. Think of all the times that Anna and Jonathan have had to acknowledge, apologize for, or explain something on the internet and people have said things like “[they come] across as fake, craving acceptance. [They’re] trying too hard. I don’t buy it.” We can choose to see the worst in her, pick her apart, and accuse her of dishonesty, like sooo many have done to A&J over the years. Or we can try to be open to the idea that she may have genuinely changed, and try to listen to her with an open mind. All I know is that it must have been extreme painful to open up about all of that, both her behavior on the internet and the things that were going on in her own life at the time. She is (regardless of what you might think her intentions are) owning up to her behavior, apologizing, and encouraging others who may be doing the same to stop and self reflect. I personally think that is genuine, but even if you don’t, how is that not a good thing? If she is genuine, I applaud her for taking this painful, I’m sure, step. If she by some chance isn’t genuine, let’s not stoop to her level and spread more hate. At the end of the day we can’t know her heart or intentions, just like she didn’t know A&J’s when she was a hater, but I would rather incorrectly spread love even too someone seeking attention than incorrectly spread hate to someone owning up to their behavior and trying to seek redemption ❤️

My blood pressure is rising with every giggle. I understand it's probably nervous laughter but what she did was inexcusable and I don't think she's holding herself accountable because she was avoiding the key questions Jonathan asked. I really respect Anna and Jonathan. They have gone through so much. People were jealous or unhappy with themselves and thought it would be great to destroy a healthy family. Wow! I especially admire your forgiveness, encouragement, and bravery in establishing a dialogue with a former troll, and for inviting her on the show. I think it’s very important to show the full circle of Trolls and help illustrate that many times they are just lashing out as a result of challenges in their OWN lives, not yours. Well done!! This should be shared in schools and def at VidCon-like breakout sessions.

What an incredibly interesting video. Jonathan, thank you for speaking up about the issues trolling has caused to you emotionally, monetarily, and in terms of process (stunting growth and such). You all were so brave to have this conversation. Thanks again! Anna, I’d react the exact same way. Forgiving, wanting to move on. Aren’t there famous stories about unlikely friendships. Like in the movie Catch Me If You Can (based on true events) the criminal, Frank Abagnale, and the FBI agent, Joseph Shea, who spent years chasing Abagnale ended up being lifelong friends.

All she talks about is stuff that happened on these forums but she distances herself from it, when she was such a major part. It all feels like a massive guilt trip. She turned the whole thing into her life when it should’ve been 25% her life and 75% her taking accountability to the trolling and the hurt she caused.

i always love hearing/seeing jonathans humility towards his journey of life and how openly he shares his past shortcomings and allows himself to be vulnerable about it all which is so rare to see in a grown, married man. anyone would be so blessed to have his love. and anna too, she is a pure light that makes me glad that she has been able to gain stability and success because she really deserves it after staying so kind and strong through all of her struggles. you're actually the only UK youtube family that i never miss a video of because i've learned so much about being hardworking individuals and all the family values that you show that inspire me to incorporate them into my own, even though i am twenty years younger. i've been subscribed since eduardo was a baby and you've always created a safe, loving engagement with the people watching. it is horrifying that anyone would take it any differently to cause destruction to your lives but i hope that you always are showered with so much love that the hateful noises are forever drowned out. so much love to you and your kids. x
