I have met Gene quite a few times. What a great guy. I met with him and got to spend about 5 minutes or so talking to him…. There was a line of people waiting to meet him an I was never in the line…. He recognized me and called me over to sit and talk….

i was born in the 1970s and as a kid i remember seeing this guys creations in magazines..even had a few of the models you could buy back then..Most kids had lamborghinis and such on their wall..i had george barris and gene windfield creations on mine..

I used to spit weld stuff as best as I could, never really did it well. My dad passed away 2 years ago and we're barely getting to sorting out all of his stuff. We found the acetylene tanks and the little T-wrench I used to turn the gas on and off with when I was 5 years old. I'm going to put all of his and my stuff in a big pile, sort it out to see what I'm lacking and then I'll get back into the training I left off when I was 16. I'm 65 now.
