Second, Shears betrayal reveals that he regrets helping Pepper and is helping Andross to gather the details that will reveal Pepper to be not the honourable general we see him to be. Pepper is the one who will benefit from it all and if Andross says about James is true then he will try to get rid of Fox somehow.

I have to agree with everyone saying the voice acting is AMAZING, Andross' voice is especially good hell even Fox's voice was really good. And Andross trying to convince Fox to back out of the fighting is definitely something most villains wouldn't do in terms of reaching out to the hero instead just telling them they can't win and just surrender cause arrogance in thinking no one can defeat them. Also implying Andross is dieing is interesting, although smoking that cig isn't doing you any favors there big boy. I'm honestly wondering if Pepper truly was the one to send James on a suicide mission or if he was left in the dark and some other commanding officer was the one to do so (like that one guy who keeps claiming mercs are expendable). While yes Pepper likely has some skeletons in his closet I highly doubt he'd knowingly send someone on a suicide mission and wouldn't even approve of such a mission. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if Pepper, Peppy and James were all friends in their youth and went to the same Academy Fox and Bill went to before going their separate ways. Oh and Andross has an actual body and isn't a giant floating head with two giant floating hands is a nice touch too.

They're better voice actors than the VAs used in the official Star Fox games, which is funny. They really emphasize the age difference between Fox and Andross really well. Andross is clearly older, wiser, and more experienced with people. That makes him dangerous and untrustworthy because he knows the right things to say to convince someone younger and less experienced to let down their suspicions of him. He knows how to make someone listen to him as at least a partly credible source. He comes off as predatory and deceitful in this scene. Meanwhile, there's Fox. Being a fox, he's smart and crafty, but he's young. He doesn't really know how his dad died because he wasn't old enough to serve Corneria when his dad went missing. His dad James is the one guy he could realistically trust the most, but, of course, he can't really make a case for himself or describe what happened to him. There's no magic that allows folks to communicate with the dearly departed in SF, sadly. As a result, he has to rely on eyewitness accounts from all of these elders around him, whether it's General Pepper, Andross, or Peppy. They may leave out details that make their own sides or perspectives look bad. Watching this scene felt like a child listening to his devious uncle or a mentor describe what happened when his dad died.

It's weird to think of Andross as a physical being. Even in Starfox/Starwing he was in truth a head in a cube. Then a brain.
@anakinsolo269 Жыл бұрын
I personally don't know when Andross became a brain during the course of the game. But from what I understood he became one as a result of his experiments, so I suspect that Herbert the Android here was injecting a serum that allowed him to survive the nature of Venom, only to further ruin his physical form, eventually becoming nothing, but a large head, then a brain. At least, that's what I think.
@josecarrilloii4036 Жыл бұрын
In *_Star Fox 64 [3D]_** (1997; 2011),* after his banishment, Andross was likely injected with some kind of *serum* that helped him survive the harsh, hostile, literally toxic and barren nature of Venom's landscape, but in doing so, it cost him much of his body, becoming a massive *disembodied head* with large *_Rayman_** style hands,* hence the *first form* we see during the first half of the final boss fight with him in-game.
@hammer13497 ай бұрын
Its entirely possible that the campaign spans several months. Andross may well have been his actual physical self during the game but desperately sought a way to extend his life, likely knowing he would die naturally before the war ended. Its also entirely possible that this Andross isn't *the* Andross. He says in the last stage of the boss fight that the has 100s of not 1000s of clones, this could just be one of them.

I’m really confused about what went on between them. Drakor wasn’t really originally evil either. He hated krazoa for murdering his people and blaming it on him. He was willing to destroy dinosaur planet to stop the krazoa from defiling the universe. He killed many but his intent was actually very noble. Andross was much eviler. He ended up at least in the game using poor drakor as a lab rat for on of his experiments. Drakor was burned alive in lava and died in absolute excruciating agony… which actually was in my opinion extremely sad. Because drakor just wanted Justice for his people he wasn’t even evil just warped with pain and hatred. He ordered Fox to kill him so that the Aparoids won’t infect him, but Peppy saved his life. What about the time Andross was infatuated with Fox’s mom but her eyes were set on James, so he tried to kill James, but she got killed instead? If you think General pepper is the bad guy, then maybe Starfox don’t deserve to be good guys.

One detail I appreciate with Andross trying to paint himself as merely one side of a conflict where neither side's hands are clean... despite claiming to not having had anything against James or Fox himself, never once does Andross actually offer any sympathy or apology for killing James. He expresses understanding that it's led to hostility between him and Fox, tries to paint Pepper as the bad guy for Blackmailing James into the job in the first place, and tries to bribe Fox into simply staying out of the conflict. No apology, no sympathy, no actual remorse - just saying it wasn't personal, and that Pepper sent him to me to die... nothing to actually suggest that he feels bad about killing him.

My suggestion? Don't take what you're creating for granted. Depending on the Continuity chosen, Andross 'did' have a grudge against James, but that's only ever mentioned in the old Nintendo power Magazines from back in the SNES days. so either he's telling the truth in this new timeline, or he's talking out of his ass. also the end leaves some questions, which is good. I'm intrigued, but also conflicted. Either way I wish the team making this all the best.

Dang, what's the budget for this game? The music, the graphics, everything seems to have been done on an unusually professional scale, especially for a fan game. The storytelling and presentation are on a decidedly higher level than most Star Fox games, including SF Assault, which the fan base often cites as the best SF story. Heck, the voice-acting in this fan game blows that of SF Assault out of the water. Andross's voice is damn near demonic. As soon as Fox answered that video call, I could hear the disgust in his voice. It was like the very sight of Andross made him wanna throw up. I also appreciate how they sum up the characters' personalities with just a few photos. We see that Fox is a married fox and that he's friends with a dog. What's his wife's name? Who's this dog's (Bill, presumably, but we'll find out later in this game)? Likewise, with Andross, we see a photo of him posing with General Pepper. We see a professional degree in science, thereby demonstrating that Andross has a brilliant, scientific mind. What happened? How did one of Corneria's most esteemed scientists become a tyrant and the leader of a violent cult and a military offensive that's destroyed millions of lives? Why isn't he using his intelligence to better others' lives? It gives just enough information about the characters to potentially engage someone who's not familiar with Star Fox, but it leaves them in the dark, too. It makes the player curious to learn more about Fox and Andross by playing more of the game. Also, I love how this game's creators entertain the idea of General Pepper not being a saint. It'd make sense, given how, at the end of the day, Pepper is still a military official. That means he's likely following orders from Corneria's top brass such as Corneria's war cabinet; his loyalty isn't necessarily to Star Fox, Andross, or even lower-level Cornerian soldiers. Sadly, there's a chance that he wants to destroy Andross not to foster peace and equality but rather maintain Corneria's dominance over the Lylat System with an iron fist. Eliminating Andross would just make Andross an example of what happens when someone is brazen enough to take arms against Corneria. On the other hand, $50 says that what Andross told Fox about Pepper is simply a half-truth, especially with that little bribe there. This scene really makes the player question the ethics of their entire campaign. Are you really the good freedom fighter, or are you just helping one bloodthirsty oppressor kill off another bloodthirsty oppressor? It also makes the player think about deeper concepts relating to war such as nationalism and government corruption, as well as how they can cause wars and chaos. Excellent work all around! I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next in this game's development.
