I like how Fox and Krystal are not immediately falling for each other in some way, but instead acting wary, sizing each other up just after an intense firefight before deciding they can trust one another. They’re both competent warriors and they’re keeping their eyes on their objectives. And yet, there’s still little moments that give their relationship room to grow. Fox gets one sarcastically mocking dig in but then gets back to the business at hand (though to be fair, Krystal was dismissive of him at first and inadvertently touched upon a very sore spot that Fox I’m sure is sick of being reminded of), and Krystal shows a moment of genuine curiosity, wonder, and even joy as they speed away on the bike. The initial trust they give each other is based on caution and necessity, but their personalities will allow further development into a partnership over the course of the story. It promises a slower burn, which will allow a more interesting character arc for these two.

Krystal's father knowing about James's existence prior to meeting Fox McCloud is an intriguing idea to be honest. I like how Krystal is wearing the yellow dress from Dinosaur Planet. It’s nice to see her earlier and later character design combined. Can we expect future appearances from Sabre, Tricky, or maybe Kyte?
@trevargrisham35 Жыл бұрын
Some of the test levels shown do include the two original companions from Adventures, yet both are shown to be much older. The Tricky model is clearly based off of the version of him we see in SF-Assault, Kyte's model is also different as a test level shows Fox and Krystal riding on her providing cover for the Great Fox. As for Saber, It's a bit of a stretch to include a protagonist that wouldn't bring much to offer, since they aren't doing any on-foot levels. It's more likely that if any aspect of him would exist it would be his sword, and fox would use that likely in a future cutscene they have yet to make.

Now that you mention it, due to the recent overwhelming box office success of the Super Mario Bros movie by Universal Studios and Illumination, I can honestly see illumination make a Star Fox movie, which would be a dream come true.👍 And obviously, if that were to happen, I would not want the movie to be set in the Lylat wars. Because as important as the story during the war was, that story has been told multiple times in more than half of the games ever released including the original 1993 game, Star Fox 64, Star Fox 64 3d, and Star Fox Zero. Instead, I want this movie to be set some time after the Lylat Wars with Fox narrating everything that happened during that time in the intro of the film, and pretty much go in it’s own story with really good writers to keep the plot and narrative fresh and engaging for Star Fox fans. And of course, it would be an absolute dream if Krystal got put in that film as well. Whether she would be reprised by Estelle Ellis or not, just seeing her again after her disappearance from the franchise since 2005 would put an absolute big smile on my face.👍 While the Mario Bros movie’s plot is simple, just them listening to the fans is what kept people coming back to see the movie. And I have faith with this success, Nintendo and Universal will hire really talented writers to tell really good stories and narratives for future Nintendo films that isn’t Mario. Star Fox can obviously be one of those examples. Disney tried something like that with Lightyear (2022), but we all know how it went down. Within time, even if it’s likely years, I can only hope that they make a Star Fox movie that not only takes the story in its own direction while also keeping it familiar to fans with the Lylat Wars already previously happened before the events of the film, but also have really talented writers that can keep that said story not only engaging, but also fresh & new to fans.👍

What happened to Fox's Arwing? Did he get Dagobah'd by Randorn? :D Though, when Krystal introduces herself "of the house Randorn, Regent of Sauria", does she mean that her family holds the regency or she personally is acting as regent? Slightly unclear in context, though I imagine the meeting with Randorn and Tricky will clear that up quickly. Either way, great introduction scene showing both of them as capable and setting up their personalities quite well. I hope that there's a scene or at least dialogue implying that they're teaching each other how to use different rides. It's a nice practical touch that can help build the likely relationship, IMO.

I like this a lot better than how they met in the original. Also like what you did with Krystal's outfit. I always felt her original look was too showy (and yes, saying that as a straight guy, for the record), and the other looks somehow didn't seem true to her roots, but you've hit a pretty good middle ground here. Also, loving the Star Wars vibes.

This project has come quite a long way. From the barely-visible dialogue and crude bosses of the first iteration, to more faithful incarnations of the worlds and battles of the present version, to a mostly-talking cutscene between Fox and Andross...to THIS. While I would have preferred Krystal's dress to be a more silver-white material, similar in hue to her original garments (though I approve of the more practical coverage), her demeanor and badassery are a more welcome change compared to her original role in Star Fox Adventures. If anything, she makes me think of Kida from Atlantis: the Lost Empire, and that woman was pure awesome. The way she wielded the power of her staff is proof that if anything, Fox was merely able to tap into a fraction of its potential. Also..."head of the house McCloud?" Is Fox descended from a noble family, now? I always figured he was a military kid, taking after his old man before they both went freelance. P.S. The Sharpclaw clearly graduated from the same marksmanship academy as the Empire's stormtroopers, I see. XD
@devonm042690 Жыл бұрын
The 'head of house McCloud' thing is probably the result of a cultural gap. It seems a fair assumption that Krystal's people follow some customs we would consider archaic, or even tribal. Krystal said her father was summoning 'a mighty warrior', so it would make sense for her to speak of him as if he was part of a warrior caste. The warriors would be the protectors, and would be a lineage such cultures had a strong interest in promoting the growth and maintenance of, part of which is keeping track of who's in it. Not unlike the roots of noble families of old, who are granted titles and land and such from their sovereign as rewards for notable services rendered for the dominion.

Ah, hello fellow "atlantis the lost empire" fan! yep, Kida was awesome. Makes me want General Scales to act like Rourke, in other words, a total jerk. Also, like I said in that other comment, the Sharpclaw bikers remind me greatly of the Smokers from "waterworld" especially early in the film, and yes they were terrible shots, presumably they were still learning to handle the recoil of the new weapons andross had given them.
@LonePhantom756 Жыл бұрын
@@monitorlizardkid8253 Given the setting, I'd expect Scales to act more like a Conan villain or something. Now, Colonel Shears? HE'S the one most likely to take the role of Rourke, seeking to exploit any hidden treasure on Sauria for a profit while turning the planet into his own personal fiefdom, with Scales as his proxy. As for whether Shears is the ultimate man behind the man for Shears, or if Andross will be making a comeback in this version of events...that remains to be seen!

Hey as long as you don't turn Fox into an edgelord with a false understanding of PTSD like some people try to write him, i'll say you're doing a pretty good work here. And aramisdagaz9 hit the nail right on the head.

*Loving this!* It's absolutely wonderful to hear Ms. Ellis come back after so long, as her voice is as lovely as ever. One question/worry though: Why are Fox and Krystal's eyes a little bloodshot? Tbh, it's distracting and, in a way, kinda disturbing. If you could, please fix that. Other than that, I'm very excited for what's on the way!

Overall, this is fantastic. I like the touch that she does not like he just immediately goes to "Can I call you Krystal", to stand her royal ground to then immediately go to "Oh the hell with this mess, sure, call me whatever. I have more pressing matters". And later the whole going from military royal captain to... "Hey... this guy is not so bad and speeding through the woods, actually feels amazing". That was splendid! I'm particularly impressed with the tension with their standoff and the defusal into "we are on the same side". That is some fantastic story telling. Points of critique: - The eye textures are really distracting. Yes, that is how an eye looks up close, especially if you have been through some stuff and the blood vessels get more pronounced. But.... please maybe tone it down... a little. - I like that misses femme fatal is such a bad ass, but it felt a bit dense how she reacted to "he is gone". No empathy no straight demands just... Complete ignorance. The sentence "What do you mean gone?" like she can not believe it, but she either has to be appear more angry to emphasize on the fact this thwarts her expectations or... maybe some sympathy towards the messenger. Her herald, is this guys dad and he gave that information away after risking life and limb to get there. - The kinetics of the scene where she freezes the dino is just... wrong. Unless you really like the David Cameron approach, I suggest; The chaos and the shaking is justifiably there, because she did not see the dino coming, so her falling back and arresting his movement and lifting him up works great with the shaky cam. After that, you need to convey the transition of her taking control of the situation and excerting effort to freeze him. Experiment with replacing the shaking their with a slight pan to the left and either a zoom in or zoom out. Maybe a slight shake and then a full stop as he turns to ice. You can convey emotion with camera movement, show the audience she just turned a near dead in to a literal obliterating victory and the amount of effort it took her to do it. - I do not like her expression when standing on top of the rock. Mainly because I just can not figure out what the hell her plan is. She MUST be smart enough to not think "Ill just subjugate these" or "Ill just obliterate these fools on my Saterday morning stroll". So... what's the story? Why did she put herself in the open? - After her initial attack, she almost succumbs to the counter fire. Is she surprised? Did she underestimate the situation? Is she suicidal? Not completely sold on her model. To me the snout feels a bit to narrow. And maybe consider just mounting her headband ornament to her head (rigging as on to the model) it is cool that it can jiggle with the physics, but it looks awful and distracting (I'm going to assume it will take considerable work to make it look good for very little gain). Besides no one would accept wearing something that physically fickle just above their eyes. Normally those things are double band and have two thin wires that make it more rigid and fit perfectly around the head. The only way to make it feel acceptable if you wear it all the time and not tap you on the head with every upward motion when you nod, jump or even descent the stairs or cut you with the beads of the jewelry when you really swing around. It basically sits like a crown made precisely to fit the shape of your head... And she IS a royal, she has the money and means to let it be made like that. Love her dress! It looks pretty, practical and her original skimpy tribal attire... Is entirely distracting, at least to me. Foxes model does not have me completely convinced, but it is good. En fits with the rest of the esthetics of the video. If I really dig deep, he could use some more vibrant color, but... then you have to touch up almost everything else up too... So... maybe not. Excellent movements, his military bearing and decision making comes through his motions. If you want to turn it to eleven... Do something with the fact that he normally does not walk in 1G, he is a space man with metal legs. I definitely do not mean, make him stumble, but something like doing some more over exerting effort to compensate. He went from 0G circumstances were the legs are purely a means to control his ship into a means of propulsion on land with "normal earth gravity" (no idea what the gravity on this planet is). It subtle, but will definitively make him stand out as Fox McCloud leader of the elite Star Fox team and captain of star ship Great Fox. But all in all, I am really impressed. Good job.

@trevargrisham35 Жыл бұрын
@@UndyingNephalim speaking of being handed technology, here's an idea for the Sauria levels, Perhaps a part of Fox and Krystal's growing relationship throughout the story could involve the two teaching each other new abilities and techniques. Fox teaches Krystal how to use the advanced weapons and vehicles like the speeder bike, Landmaster, and eventually the Arwing, while Krystal teaches Fox how to utilize the sorcery she uses, assuming that your version has Fox wielding a sword like he did in the early builds of Adventures
