The issue about sex. It's important that BEFORE you get married, one must address their own internal issues with sex/lust/flesh. Are you disciplined in that area? Have you conquered lust? Have you conquered being ruled by your flesh? Because if the answer is no, we end up hurting each other in marriage due to our own internal issues and battles with lust that we may or may not be aware of. Marriage calls for two mature people and that includes being able to demonstrate self-control and self-discipline of your flesh. If that has not been confronted pre-marriage it will surely show up in many different ways during the marriage whether that's infidelity, addiction to porn etc. It is not your partner that's to blame it is the thing underneath the surface (the lust that brought you two together, the lack of self-control that brought you two together) that needs to be uprooted and healed in order to move towards a healthier relationship in all ways, including sex.

You make such a good point! It's necessary to go through this process during our singlehood. Especially in the sinful environment that we live in. I experienced it myself and I'm happy I came out feeling "cleaned up" from past unethical behaviors. The right man will "clean up" his wife, and the wife will help elevate the right man to a saner place where he'll be a happy husband. Sex should be a sane experience and full of life and love, not shameful and "dirty". Sex is meant to build a family, not destroy each other!

“The courage to change course” is so necessary. I left my job after 20 yrs and moved to a different state due to God leading me into His path. Changing your course is not easy and it takes faith and courage. Stephan dropped great knowledge as usual. To add to that, I think if more people surrender to God, do the work, and allow God to lead them to their spouse, a lot of this would be avoided. Great podcast!❤

Men are not the only ones wanting a baddie. Women settle for your personality and humor. We want a handsome man who got his act together. He doesn't have to be rich. I find the men who always want a baddie...are not the most attractive men themselves. Their money is what makes them attractive to the wrong women. Usually that "baddie" is just that ...the one that treats them bad, and takes them for everything. You reap what you sow. It's so much more than looks. This way of thinking is so shallow minded to me.

I wish they would’ve touched on male emotional neglect. I would argue that’s just as bad as cheating. A woman has a hard time opening up her body to a man who is not safe for her emotionally. Also financial infidelity is a problem.
@tetea7596

Agreed. I’ve seen very few men take responsibility for emotional and even sexual neglect. Their dissatisfaction sexual begins with their unwillingness to satisfy their wives emotionally and sexual needs. What she gives is poured over from what he gives to her… men have to give women something to pour over. We multiply what’s given to us.

When it comes to “connection” I believe you can have more than one and where we have to be careful about connection is the season your in, because it can be a connection with someone at a certain time and they were needed for that purpose at that time, but then we have to be careful not to pick a connection for a relationship or marriage based on where you are now, you need someone who can handle you in all seasons. Don’t settle in prayer because you will settle in everything else

The problem is, everyone wants to chase things that are out of their reach. Then the one’s that are close, they don’t like those people. Men & women do the same thing when it comes to dating. Y’all don’t like the people that like you, & the one’s that y’all want usually aren’t in your best interest, but because they give off this “🔥” or “Edge” feeling, that is the only thing that keeps you chasing them. Another hard truth is that subconsciously the people you want are the one’s that you feel are superior to you, not in a sense of thinking they are better than you, but in a sense of wanting their validation. The people who show you the attention you want are always the one’s you don’t want, & the people who don’t give you that attention, you crave it from them. This is why y’all think sh’t is complicated when it really isn’t. You people still carry the toxic mentality that you grew up with “ If a boy or girl is mean to you, that meant they like you” That mindset is one of the most crippling traumas that parents could have ever instilled in their children & wonder why they don’t like the people that actually likes them. You want to be challenged, which is fine, but there’s a difference between healthy challenges & toxic one’s. Y’all are too attached to the toxic one’s & instead of doing the work on yourself & stop repeating the cycle, you’ll forever be someone that thinks “Dating” is complicated. It’s not complicated, y’all just make it complicated. Stop thinking that you can’t have an attractive , fire , healthy partner. Y’all get so brainwashed into thinking that the only ppl who are attractive are the “Bad” guys or “Bad” girls & that’ll never be true. Society has lied to you all & instead of accepting the truth for what it is, do better. Make better decisions, stop choosing the same type of women & men. You people are so shallow & only care about what a person looks on the outside that you forget about the substance that holds sh’t together. Then you want to be the 1st person to scream all women or men ain’t sh’t. Take accountability for the sh’t you keep choosing to put yourself in. Stop thinking there aren’t attractive good people out here , & stop believing the lie that only bad girls or bad guys are attractive. Stop having unrealistic expectations & most importantly LOVE YOURSELF

Some truths here but also sounds like alot of projection as well. If you like someone and they don't like you then keep it moving. Why would I waste my time proving to someone that I am the one? We all have an instinct, we know who our spirit connects with but at the end of the day, if God did not reveal to you or to them that that is your person, we need to learn self acceptance. They may be right infront of you but what if you're actually trying to corrupt a beautiful friendship that God ordained?

The Spirit knows, and when it is in alignment with someone, it unlocks the love. It compels you to show and express your love. You are inspired to give, get and do for them in ways that can not be explained. The connection can be experienced at first glance when you look at someone and the attraction does something to you that you just can't explain. Then, when you are around them, the interactions and the dating experiences with them just make your heart smile. Most importantly, the communication feels like you are pouring into each other and enlightening each other. Then, when you both are apart, you feel like something is missing, and thoughts of them have you smiling for no reason 😊

Wow that is so profound my brother what you said made me think about the book of Matthew 19: 27-30 when we truly love ourselves enough to purposely decide to only become what we were created to be then not only will we be successful but we will also reap one hundred fold so I pray that the true children step up and be who they really are so that we illuminate the earth finally

@35:35 spoke volumes. We have to restructure and rebuild and understand our true selves. I finally took oath this year to rediscover myself, along side with God's purpose for my life. Update: This was actually great. It's a reality that dating is HARSH as hell. May God fix this nation where we can focus on Him and serve His purpose, so that He can match us with our Purpose Partners.

Attachment(chemistry because of close proximity , infatuated because of looks , its superficially based) vs connection(spirituality is involved , deep secrets don't scare you off they actually bring you close ) , 2 different things

People are dealing with past hurt/generational curses that has been passed down to them and want help but don’t know to really seek for help. So grandma, momma even daddy are a crutch to continue to walk around and hold on to the hurt that was given or passed down to them.

As a 50 year old coming out of a Domestic Violence marriage of 14 years. I love these episodes of transparency and truth. I wish we we had this in my era because I would of not have chosen by flesh. At the same time God knows what we will go through to get threw to become the woman God wanted me to be. Knowing now and doing the self work. I will continue to wait on God and doing the work until he knows I’m ready for my future husband who is for me. 🙏🏾

This was so good! The piece about connection in our spirit before our brain catches up was powerful. I also saw myself in Stephan's description of how an unhealed person responds to a relationship with no red flags. So grateful for this single season, where I'm doing my work to be the person God created me to be.

Loved this conversation... Not all women are the stereotypes nor the "modern day" woman. Some of us still love for who that person truly is. Vulnerability in a strong man is always a true blessing to be a part of or simply witness
