Regardless of what you think of him I respect the brother for allowing the story to be told from both sides. In the end, this is a Christian based platform. Christianity is about forgiveness, redemption and reformation. If he wasn’t interviewed I would’ve been more shocked.

I can't relate to a sociopath. He sat with a bold, straight face everyday appealing to an audience of naive, and thirsty women, only to be cheating on his ex-wife like a dog. I even remember the interview he did with K. Michelle when she said "Men are not good people." And he gaslit the heck out of that woman, saying "it's just the men you deal with"... As if he don't belong in that category himself 🙄😂

This interview was simply “damage control” for Derrick. Typical narc behavior to do whatever it takes to preserve one’s image. And while he took accountability for some of his actions, he still played victim at certain moments during the interview. I’m not saying that Da’naia was completely innocent, but her actions to be unfaithful were provoked by his initial unfaithfulness.

I’ve always wondered why some women are so gullible as to follow Derrick’s content. He’s clearly telling you EXACTLY what you want to hear. He’s ice cream, not vegetables. He makes you feel good but doesn’t help you GROW. It’s crazy to me that, despite showing the world that he’s the goofball many of us have known him to be, there are STILL women listening to his content and giving him the benefit of the doubt. I guess it pays to look good in a tight-ass t-shirt.

I hope pt 2 has more accountability. Derek should not be praised just because he is admitting some of his stuff, and so called "being honest." HE GOT CAUGHT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND IT MESSED UP HIS MONEY! He has to be forthcoming to preserrve his image and business. But he mishandled his wife with that "bonnet" Facebook live and then he got caught again. Yes, forgiveness is the key, but if you keep violating in the same manner, it speaks to a deep character issue. Yes, Jesus will fix us, if we let Him, but you gotta yield the issue to Him. Cmon Derek, get some real Christ centered accountability and have several seats.

As a survivor this would feel like a slap in a face. But business wise it’s a smart move. My abuser is just like DJ ( I don’t have proof of any physical cheating) but these type of men are very strategic at storytelling, charismatic, and know all the right things to say and what what faults to share to appear humble. and yes they have wounds and troubles from their childhood that will make anyone for sympathy for them. That’s how us fixers gets deceived. But most “faith filled” ppl will do is throw the blanket of blame on both people. But these deceivers are so good at deceiving they’ll have you questioning everything. I don’t have time but I could break down this interview on how he’s still a wolf. Why? Because It’s not fair to her, my kids, or me to commit something that will tear down the very thing we are trying to build. He’s full of excuses. People who have *consistently* proven themselves to be manipulative and untrustworthy shouldn't be interviewed. Lies don't need a platform. It's important to be discerning about what we give voice to and/or how someone may try to use a space to rehab their image and brand.

Naw we need to see how one looks and speaks and moves. This is education at its best . And we need to not ever have sex with anyone outside of the one sent with God’s divine Hand of approval to be our husbands /purpose partners . Abstaining from sex gives us time to see who these vessels really are without that whole soul connection the comes through sex . It’s easier to cut somebody off when you haven’t been having sex with them . Cut them slam off .. these demonic vessels out here trying to take Gods children out but it ain’t working .

But he did a lot of things to his wife he told us a guy who truly loved a woman, would never do. And then he came on the internet and professed his love and recommitment to his wife. And then he cheated again🫠. We all see how sincere he seems, but over and over again he has shown us that his words don’t match his actions. I think everyone is capable of living in true alignment, I’m just not betting my money on DJ today.

You should better take that time to watch YOURSELF and your ways with the people in your life instead of watching D.J. He is not your husband or your brother. Please take it easy. We as Christians should learn to give grace to people. Jesus even on the cross, did it and so did lateras too. He allowed D.J. to defend himself, although he doesn't owe us anything. But as a public personality, he felt like doing it. So let's pray he finds peace and more stability and become even a better person than he is now. Let's behave like christians dear. Remain blessed.

That is not the perspective of someone who genuinely understands their wrong. I’ve been married - and after divorce, had to say “this was 100% my part”..and end it there. 😂😂😂 I read comments where the women are clearly gullible! I see why some men see a lot of women as naive and use them up accordingly!

I had to go back and listen again. I think it went over Derrick's head. Derrick threw a few jabs on about the name DFW being coined by him and jab at the first two counseling sessions he had with Da'Naia. Interesting how he glossed over trying to be a good man by being a provider, being there for the baby etc knowing their primary issue was of him cheating to begin with. Yes, she may have had trauma, but he really never addressed how he would "will" himself to not cheat on her. I guess it may come out in part 2.

Hearing his side of the story helps me to understand that their experience is fairly typical in off/on relationships. Most of us don't know that this is toxic and makes us incompatible and incapable of sustaining this type of relationship. Especially when dealing with traumas we don't know are traumas at such a young age. It's unfortunate that their story played out in the public eye. I pray solace over them both as they are divorcing. 🙏🏾

If I were danaia I would never interview with this man again. He threw danaia under the bus (light skinned dark skinned kids) after acting like he wanted to make her look her best. I don’t know if he meant to or not but he did.. and he also allowed this man to recklessly divulge personal information about his wife’s violation; even in the interview with her he was just out of line; very distasteful. “We’ll SHEEEEE said… well SHEEEEE said.” I don’t trust either of these men.

Mr Laterras, I applaud you for allowing both parties involved to give their visions. Not only about how they felt but how they received it and responded. This gives us an incite on how both men and women can have the same experiences, but it can manifest differently . Can't wait till part 2 🎉

Listening to both parties show how important it is for people to heal before marrying. Marrying is a commitment and vow before God. We take it so lightly and treat like boyfriend and girlfriend. I am 34 and not married and I am working through my trauma because I don’t want my marriage to pay the price. Myles Munroe said a lot of people are broken up not because they don’t love each other but because they lack knowledge to make the relationship work. These two broken individuals got together requiring each one of them to be responsible for each others healing. 😢😢😢. I hope they both truly face themselves and heal and so in the future can they can properly love someone because they have mastered how to love themselves. 😊
