Meg, I hope that maybe you will read this. I'm just a guy who's been reeling from deep emotional trauma and loss for about two weeks. A little over a week ago, KZbin did some good (for a change) and recommended me one of your early videos (“Monster”), enabling me to discover your art, which took me down a deep rabbit hole of listening and watching everything you’ve performed. At first, I thought that your dark. highly emotional, personal lyrics and amazingly intense and expressive delivery were screwing me up even more and almost quit, but I then realized that it was all actually cathartic and helping me cope. I watched a specific live performance of “Heart Heart Head” and screamed the ending along with you while parked at a remote location (where no one could hear my primal screams). It took away some of the stomach-churning emotional hell that I was feeling. Despite being a hetero man, I deeply associate with all your lyrics and feel them in my bones. The only other artist that I’ve ever experienced this was the brilliant Trent Reznor, who got me through my turbulent teen years. When I got to this song and video, it touched me in another way. For the first time in a while, I cried the “good” kind of tears and began to heal. Thank you! You’re right about bottled love being a suicide so here it is: I love your art, Meg! Please, never stop creating and being you! I am also really glad that you seem to be in a better place (emotionally and mentally) yourself when compared to your earlier period of creative output. The Grammy awards are predominantly about what kind of monotonous subliminal bs can appeal to passive listeners the most times. I hate The Grammys, hate The Oscars, and I hate The Emmys because they all boil down to one thing that is put on such a high pedestal but makes zero difference anyway: Money. Money is basically bullshit. And anyone who gets into being sucked into it being that important to acquire mountains more of money than they ever need is an idiot. Think about how much money Harvey Weinstein’s ex-wife and offspring have and how huge that monster’s real-estate portfolio was.
