Hi Ian, Really cool to see you got gifted the Peter Brock book - my dad worked for Alan Moffat and built the engines on the two Ford XC Falcons that placed first and second in 1977, driven by Alan Moffat & Colin Bond. Amazing moment in racing history (definitely worth a watch!) He’s also just finished rebuilding his own Ford XY, which would give an American muscle car a run for its money! Clearly a very proud daughter.

As a kiwi who now calls Australia home, you're making me nostalgic for Whitakers chocolate. Some of my family come from Porirua in Wellington, where the Whitakers factory is. I remember going to watch some cousins playing rugby very early on an extremely foggy Saturday morning... the fog was permeated with the smell of hot chocolate from the factory- it was divine! It's an absolute pleasure seeing you enjoy learning about our country and I think your knowledge surpasses many of us Aussies. I'm enjoying learning new things with you all. As a fellow kiwi living abroad.. just grab that toblerone at the checkout. Nothing can compare to swiss chocolate, I'm sorry. NZ watties ketchup n savaloys n baked beans is great. And incredibly fresh fish n chips for 7nzd, and great meat pie. But yeah forget about the chocolate, cant beat the swiss.

It's a kookaburra, an iconic Australian bird and much loved! They belong to the kingfisher family of birds, but hunt on land, rather than water like other kingfishers. Kinder is the German word for children and where we get the word kindergarten - children’s garden. Kinder Surprise is banned in the USA because of the small parts inside being a choking hazard for toddlers, but for the rest of the world, parents supervise their kids with such things. Kinder also have other forms of chocolate for kids.

Unfortunately it’s been that dry all calendar year and the biggest wildfires in state history have been raging here in New Mexico for 2 months. It’s been super hot and unbelievably dry 😕

@@IWrocker The Rural Fire Service here in Australia has been warning for years that the standard fire season (Sept - March in Oz and April - August in US) is gone. The seasons overlap and both countries are now seeing fires in the Winter period due to the fact it is so dry. I feel for those who are affected it is a terrible feeling that is really hard to explain unless you've experienced it.

the yellow building on the purse is Flinders Street Railway Station. It is well over 100 years old, the rooms above the station were made up of offices for the Railyards, and also a couple Dance/Concert Halls. Underneath it in the basement is also large shops that have external step access down from the footpaths.

the usa ranger and new bronco are basically based on the australian designed px ranger/everest released about 12yrs ago. although they're mostly all diesel here in aus and the us ones have the ecoboost.

@@IWrocker the chevy colorada was sold in australia as the holden colorado they aren't the most popular, the second gen ones used the 2.8l vm diesel out of the jk wrangler. i'd always buy a petrol anyway better offroad, cheaper parts. diesel is better for towing though.

you can unlock region-locked DVDs by using software, but with many hardware DVD players you can also unlock them, there's plenty of sites and YT videos that show how (no need to buy an Aussie DVD player)

I did love the "straight to the poolroom" reference in this episode, as the original Kerrigan's house was around the corner and up the hill from the house I grew up in. I showed it to my lovely lady (she's a Perth girl) after Christmas at Mum's place a few years back, because the film is legendary. The house was not in Oak Park, or Coolaroo (legitimate local suburbs) but Strathmore. Dagonet Street. It has been knocked down. Up until the 80s all handbags had a 2c coin In a plastic pouch sewn into the inside of the handbag.

If you can't get the DVD's working in your DVD player, try your computer, most computers with a DVD drive can play DVD's from any region (use VLC player software if the software you have doesn't work)

The #4 car is an Aussie FJ Holden (a classic). The Mad Max Interceptor is from Mad Max 2 (Road Warrior), the double tanks at the rear differentiate it from the first film.

Ok so my favourite thing to do with milo is put a heap in the bottom of a bowl and add a little bit of hot water. Mix until it has a fudge consistency. Then add ice cream. DIvine!!!!
