Once again some smartass developer thaught it would be a good idea to limit the ending movie to those that can complete the game on Expert(Supreme) difficulty. Sorry for looking n00bish playing the game I did the best I could. Blocking is easy as you always see that coming but timing the other hits is insainly precise.
Another issue with the game is the odd option of the B+C buttons switching the language track in the game anytime durring play. So if you hear Cantanese, its due to me button mashing and not realising.
I cant say I like this game. The fights were far to long and no onscreen help at all in this difficulty. I couldn't seem to use the Special abilities I picked up for use on Fang Tu. The Manual says Down + X or Y or Z (for the respective powers) but it wasn't happening.

Hey! That's a bast from the past! Good work keeping this one! My sister an I used to play the hell out of this game back in our teen years, and we were really good at it...it was among our top favorites. The idea is not just to strike or to block, but to do it at the right timing. It makes enormous difference. With the perfect blocks (blue flash) decreasing enemies life meters, and precise strikes (green flash) - you can win any fight in the game with a very few attacks - sometimes even 1 or 2. First, play it on easy, learn to use perfect strike and perfect block, learn to distinguish between clearly visible attack triggers and the ones which you need to memorize, and then start upping the difficulty to the max and it becomes a piece of cake. Special attacks - Leopard Strike, Buddha Palm, etc, - also require timing. That will define if they are deadly or just a fleabite to an enemy. As for Fang-Tu specific special attacks (fire blast, earthquake and hurricane) you can only use them at a specific moments during the fight. Their icon will flash. Usually it is when he is about to do the same to you. Though you need to have the move in your arsenal first, respectively. One thing we never discovered, was how to trigger those secret "humiliation scenes"... Good luck and keep it up!

I used to adore this game. I owned on Panasonic 3do. Took awhile to beat back then. Me and my friends used to play this all the time along with Killing Time, Seal of the Pharoah, Captain Quasar and Wolfenstein. I used to remember we'd make it to Fang Tu and he'd destroy us in just a few hits. Games had a lot more difficulty back then I think.

I remember beating the game on the Sega CD using the hand and foot signs when they appeared on the corners of the screen; not by memory. When I tried to play it in the mall on a different console I could not do it because of the reaction time difference. I also remember finding the Easter egg of the fire warlord playing in the kiddy pool during the fight. Good times.

I think im one of the few people that actually loved this game. the concept was just ahead of its time and basically ruined this type of game. I managed to beat it and i found it great. At that time a CD didnt hold that much data, nor was video hardware mature enough to have full hd video. a game like this on todays hardware would be excellent if done right...

Exactly. Those FMV games look very obsolete nowadays, but thinking about it, games such as Heavy Rain or Asura's Wrath are very similar (whole QTE movie), just with more technical and financial means.

When I was in university, I rented this game from Microplay, but it was the 3DO version I rented. I remember that in that game, you could choose which of each warlord's two guards you could fight first, and that the game came in two discs because the first disc held only two of the three warlords, and the rest of the game was on the second disc.

I actually have a bit of a soft spot for this game, but that's mostly because I love cheesy kung fu movies. You use the normal specials by hitting Down and either A, B, C when the audio clue chimes in. If I remember correctly, it was D+A when you hear rattles, D+B when you hear crunching noises, and D+C when you hear wind. The secret moves could only be used on Fang Tu when the right clips played; they would flash, and then you could activate the specific attack.

I actually have this up there as one of the worst games of all time. You don't exactly get any feedback from when you hit or are hit, and more importantly, 99% of what you do doesn't even work. The only survival tactic is to MASH BUTTONS AND DIRECTIONS AND HOPE IT WORKS

I had this game but, the 32x version back in 94-95 man that ending was awesome never did beat the supreme setting! just for advice you should look for opening when you attack and distance the enemy is in relation to the camera! man that brings back memories what an awesome game it is!

You just saw it. The warrior uses the mask to kill Fang Tun. You get that ending by beating the game on the Supreme difficulty. It's just what you saw in this longplay.

What a notriously bad martial arts video game. Be it a good thing that I never played this game, it was a shame that there wasn't much good games like Sonic CD and a few others. Sega did try to push the Genesis out with Sega Mega CD, but didn't work as much as they hoped.

Oh for goodness sake, the fighting is awful! Takes too long and you have no idea if you've hit or even who is winning until someone falls. I hate games with the "ending at Expert only" thing also. If a game is going to do that, the gameplay better be worth all the effort and trouble.
