I loved this game. Me and my friend used to play it everytime we would stay the night at each other's houses. I liked how it had objectives and you could rescue people. Well designed. This is when EA really established themselves with good games. Now they're a scumbag developer.

Yeah I remember this game being impossible if you just wanted to have fun. If you wanted to win, you practically had to memorize the most optimal path between targets and the exact number of weapons needed to destroy things. You always ran out of fuel or ammo otherwise.

I lost hours to this game as a kid. My one criticism was that there was a glitch that sometimes when you lowered your winch to pick up fuel barrels when you were abiut to run out it would tell you that you'd successfully collected fuel but then you'd run out and crash.

I had my Sega Mega drive in 1994 when I was 7. Parents bought it in Germany, not sure how much they spent. Games for it did cost from 5 lats to 15 lats (around 7$ - 21$). 95% of market was used before cartridges, also we had cartridge exchange and rental. Pay deposit and take game home for a month or so. The feeling was unreal, colourful design of cartridges, unforgettable scent of them and of course the games themselves. This was a true window to the Western world for me as a boy living in young, post-Soviet country of Latvia...

deeditmane I used to be an Army helicopter pilot, I flew OH-58D Kiowa Warriors; trained with Apaches because we had similar missions: reconnaissance and fire support. Honestly, the Apache’s rotors give off a high pitch sound and they kinda nailed it in this game.

Man, I played this game as a kid with absolutely NO idea what was going on or what the politics were like back then. Looking at it now, I love every detail that was put into it and the music slaps. You can tell the team had a blast making this game. Pure nostalgia.

This game is a classic i,m playing it now with a Retrovision cable and the big difference right away is the helicopters blades that swings is like a glowy red rather than a dual red, incredible balance game you can see mostly were all the fuel, ammo is located on your map too calculate your fuel consumption. A must have, sorry for the snes fans theirs just doesn't come up to the hype of this version!

This brings back memories. The good old Sega Megadrive, bought it from my first hard earned money at age 14 and still have it to this day. The EA games were brilliant. Desert, jungle and urban strike, I couldn’t believe the perfect gameplay and graphics back then. And I must say, it still is a good game.

Loved this played it to death it was released about the same time as the real life conflict operation desert storm led by storming Norman schwarzkopf, it was the reason I bought a mega drive I was about 24 at the time and my brother thought I was being childish spending my money on a video game then after he saw this I had to lend it to him! After completing it I tried to do the levels using only the original armour and just the machine gun (HARD) And if my memory serves me correctly you didn't use fuel if you stayed over the water, I still remember the save code to the last level to this day.

so many other games today do a far better and more spectacular job and much more.. i mean, i'm playing just cause 3 on PS4 now and that has everything. so i think today, games like this can't really be much good or successful.. good war games where you fly choppers, blow shit up, run around and shoot, take over enemy base etc are everywhere.. i did LOVE the strike game series back in the day!

@@briantoplessbar4685 You have to be fast, I admit, no loafing around. But if you have played some times, you can do it. The fuel available is somewhat enough. And use the sea if possible, since fuel doesn't drop there.

I had this on my parents' SNES, and while I wasn't very good at it (I'm about 80% sure I never got past the second mission, and it took me a while to figure out the first one. Those damn raptors kept missiling my tail rotor) it was a blast to play. Thank the creator for Internet archives and KZbin keeping my childhood alive :-)

I have very foggy memories of this game, or some type of helicopter game very similar to this one. I recall playing this (I think it was this game) on the computer when I was about 6 or 7 years old back in the early 2000s. I don’t know why we had it, let alone have it on the computer, but this game has haunted my dreams for at least 13 years now. It is only tonight at 2:30 in the morning that I’d decide to look for it, and even then it just doesn’t feel how I remembered it.

Wow! This game was amazing spent many hours playing this game. My strategy was to go in slow and kill everything. It took me many tries but I got it right. One other thing notice how you blow a building up and the pow’s always survive? 😂

I loved all the strike games as a kid, I'd love to play them again, even 30 years later watching this I can remember that it takes 2 hydra missiles to destroy AAA and rapier was 75 armour. Extra life in mountain southeast if you destroyed it, happy days. Jink and destroy lol
