The Music in the first is epic. megadriver did a rock version of this song and when I heard the rock version of the song I felt like I was ready to go to battle myself. the name of the rock version is called "the Battle of Ravgaed Village" .

awesome game, though I'll always prefer the original Golden Axe, the series as a whole is quite good. Between all three Golden Axe and Streets of Rage games Genesis had some of the best brawlers.

A neat trick against the final boss: Try to draw him to the bottom of the screen. You can keep doing the running attack and he won't be able to side step your attack. Repeat until he's dead.

@Benjamin Owuye No, II has better controls and gameplay. Better Soundtrack and graphics. It`s a better game than 1 , no doubt. Revenge of death adder was not a real golden axe in my book, totally different setting and athmosphere, inferior level design , and cheap arcade difficulty. It was a disgrace in the series.

I loved that this Megadrive/Genesis only sequel really captures the feel of the Golden Axe world using call backs to the characters and musical themesof the original while not simply re-using the graphics and tunes. (The third one, while a slightly deeper game experience didn't really manage to feel like Golden Axe in the way that this game did). I think the controls in this were a little looser too which was nice, allowing the player slightly faster overall movement and attacks. Great sequel!

I remember playing this game on my uncle's knock off console that looked like a PS2 but it only played Sega games. I never knew the name of this game, since it just threw you into the first level with no title screen or player select, but I do remember having a good time with this game.

This game has its issues but it's also underrated. It's much faster than the first game and has much more responsive controls, plus the music is superb! The sound effects are awful though and have no impact or weight at all, plus there's zero difference in how the characters play to the original. Better sound effects, a couple of new moves, and one new character would have been great.

One of the cheapest final fights in the history of beat'em ups! I can beat Golden Axe without any issues, but Golden Axe 2 is just so frustrating, everything is dull here, the enemies take million hits and overall this game is such an unnecessary sequel.
