So glad I bought all my gold back in the 1990's. Never paid more than $350 per ounce. The $267 per ounce was a great time. I would never be able to afford the amount I bought back then today. My superior perception paid me well. It was a time when nobody was stacking or even thinking about gold. In fact people LAUGHED at me then.

I’m noticing some minor scratches and dings, along with some spots on these Gold Eagles...does that affect the resale value with Coin Store Dealers (or private buyers)?

I've not ever sold before, so I don't have first hand experience, but my understanding is that I should be able to sell at near spot price no problem for American Gold Eagles (AGE)

Every 1 oz of gold egual how many grams

A Troy Ounce of gold is equivalent to 31.1034807 grams. The American Gold Eagle has 1 Troy oz. However a American Gold Eagle coin is 22K gold, so it weighs more. It weighs 33.95 grams, because it also has silver and copper mixed in. It still contains a full Troy oz of gold, but has some more silver and copper, so it weighs more than a 99.9% coin, like the American Buffalo.

Hehe, yeah, well, I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. That said, I've rarely seen any Gold/Silver KZbinr videos unbox more than an ounce of gold. 5 coins was a big nut to pay out on a single purchase. Mega for me ;)

What the heck do you do for a living? Being able to purchase 5 American Gold Eagle 1 oz coins at the same time...don’t most of us wish we could. Must be Real Estate, like The Bean, who says has the extra “disposable cash” to buy PM’s. Bully for you. If you get a bit overloaded in Gold, please don’t hesistate to send a couple coins this way (Ha-Ha). Sorry, just a bit envious is all.

This is why I will never buy random date Gold, or Silver. Too many numbskulls handle them all up with their hands. Sorry, but that’s one of my Pet Peeves. Keep my metals in pristine condition (but you still can’t help natural toning over time). If you look at a lot of the silver coins in these videos, that have dark colorization toning near the edges of the coins, you can tell that the owners thought that handling them by the edges wouldn’t harm them. Whatever part of the coin you touch (with bare hands) will eventually lead to toning (and speed up the process).

To each his own.... I like touching my metal. To me coins were designed to be touched and traded. Which is probably why I'm not a numismatic stacker. I think money is supposed to be "fungible", ie, the same and interchangeable. I've never really been the type that worries about my coins being pristine and/or puts them in capsules. I don't like the idea that "money" is a different value based on it's condition or grade. Of course I realize it's totally a thing which people do, and many coins are indeed very rare and more valuable, it's just not something I want to get myself worked up over.
