I wish the stores would make exceptions for large families. I don’t feel like you should be limited. I have 6 people in my household and back early pandemic they wouldn’t let me buy but 1 package of chicken. We knew the lady running the next register and she told our cashier that we had a large family. She said I’m sorry it’s just our policy. The lady behind me in line said I’ll buy your extra chicken for you. Then she said I’m single and I’m happy to buy it. I was thinking great I’ll pay her after she checks out. Then she wouldn’t let me pay her. She said she wanted too. I thanked her. I thought that was so kind.

I went through very similar experience but with milk. I broke down crying. Like you the lady behind me offered to buy me milk. The clerk quickly said she'd have to give it to me outside. The clerk made it such a big deal I ended up saying no thank you and went to another store and got the milk I needed.

@meganm59504 жыл бұрын
If they did that, then it would mean less or none for the many other people and families of different sizes out there. They have to be fair to everyone and ensure that there is enough to go around. It wouldn't be right if, for example, a few larger families bought up most of the milk in a store's stock and there wasn't enough left for all of the other folks who came into the store and needed some.

haha, faster way to calculate it is 1300 per month for 12 people is about 108 per month per person, which is about 27 per week per person. I guess the babies make up for smaller portion sizes by using up diapers :P

In my area, canned vegetables are also much cheaper than frozen. I have a budget of $400 a month to spend on groceries for 5 people, so I have to pinch pennies. Done in good intent and serious moderation, they will look back and smile when they are thousands of miles away raising their own. Yes, dandelions are my favorite flower. Now that they have dandelions in their own yards, you bet it is their favorite flower as well. The fact that their grandfather put some thought into something so clever, it is an expression of love. Not once did I ever tell them that Santa was real. Whole different thing, in my opinion.

My kids used to eat baby trees, but not when we called it broccoli.

With the peanut butter that needs to be stirred each time I use it I flip it when I store it, heads then tails, the oil heads to the top which means less stirring.

I've heard people turn the natural peanut butter upside down so you don't have to stir. Not sure if it works or not

Hi Sarah, you can actually make your own vanilla too, I just did it today. It won’t be ready until next year but it’s very cost effective and lasts forever. We jar it up once it is ready and store it. It’s quick and easy and is more about the wait for it to be ready than anything else.

I really love watching your videos specially your grocery hauls. I’m so amazed at how you’re so good with budgeting and feeding your family healthy food. I’m a single mom of one and I’m struggling so to see you with 10 kids and looking great is an inspiration. If you’re able to stay fit and be so busy, what’s my excuse? Need to step up my game lol. Love ur videos. God bless u guys!! ❤️
