i just realized. wily mentioned that inukai, the operator of beast man was "deleted." theres exactly one empty chair in wilys room. had wily didnt murder inukai, lan would have nowhere to sit to stop wily and alpha you literally could have won this had you not murder any of your human operatives, wily.

So as i just found out, in the Legacy Collection version of Battle Network 3, they made the fight where you would fight both flameman and plantman into separate fights. I'm not sure if that because the games are based off the Japan versions of the game and that was a change they made there or if that was changed for the Legacy Collection.

Man, I could not beat Alpha. But it was my own fault for not taking the time to grind Chips.

I just beat him today in like the fifth try with 500 health spare and without using a P.A .. you just need some good chips and some luck and a bit of skill too

It'd be the game's fault if everything else wasn't so easy, I could do the rest of the game with starter chips and then it throws this bs in my face... Even Bass was so simple, really easy once I had him down and had more than enough dmg with 2 life swords and a bunch of 100 dmg chips, Alpha confounds me. It doesn't help I'm shadow and have no charged attack, his barrier now takes what feels like 100 shots to drop, then I get to MAYBE damage him with 3, is this an oversight? Did they even play-test the game with this special Blue version class? Without crazy +1000 dmg bubbleman builds or whatever? So weird

I've always thought Bass was the real problem, that aura of his is a real scrub killer once you get past MMBN1. Alpha is fairly simple once you know the trick behind it. Alpha has no Invincibility frames, which makes it hilariously weak to Zeta series Program Advances, especially Z-Cannon and Yo-yo, which by this point in the game, you should have a lot of. A wood style like MegaQuint has helps tremendously as well, because of its charge shot being tornado.

I can't even beat Bass atm, I've accepted that I need to go and grind chips and rebuild my folder to even get through his fight. And I don't even want to contemplate the Alpha fight when I get to it 😅

I beat Alpha on my first try with Woodguts style, undershot program and grass stage chip. I stayed back and just wore him down with my megabuster
