Me too. I must have made it to the roadblock in Wily 1 a hundred times and could not figure out how to progress. Finally after a year I learned you could use the robot master weapons. And, yes, @Ryu you can die after defeating the robot master if their last attack does enough damage to take you out as well.

12:37 I just posted this on Twitter about a week ago(my clearing this with no damage), but while the timing is very tight for dodging the fire here in both sections, this obstacle can be dodged without taking damage. You can stand pretty far into the sprite without getting burned. The staff roll for Rockman Complete Works shows you how this is accomplished.

There's a trick that allows you to walk through both with ease. (you must be always walking though as soon as you enter the room, no stopping) Once you reach the first ladder, let go for a TINY amount of time twice and then keep holding up and right to walk through the fire with no issue, then when reaching the 2nd ladder, do that tiny stop 5 times and then keep holding up and left and you'll walk straight through.

@@BigGahmBoss Ultimately it comes down to precise timing. If Mega Man clears the fire wall on his way up, the flame will disappear by the time he lands.

I'm 47, so yeah, I'm getting old, but I remember these games when they came out and I remember it quite clearly. I remember going to KB Toys or Babbages, in the mall, looking at all the newest games being released on the NES or, my jam, the C64. I remember going to Blockbuster video and getting a game to rent while my parents stocked up on rentals for the weekend where they would rent between two and five movies for the evenings. You know what I miss most? I miss that thrill, that joy, that complete excitement (blood rushing, palms sweating, legs jittering) that I used to get when we pulled into the parking lots of places like Blockbuster, Best Buy, or the video arcade. I miss that feeling of excitement.

At 37:15, you can actually make the jump to the block without using the magnet beam. It requires an very precise jump, but it is possible.

I had Megaman Anniversary Collection for both GameCube and PS2. The only 2 games I finished were Megaman and Megaman 3. I found Megaman X series to be way harder than the originals. Sometimes I could not get to the boss rooms because the stages were very difficult.

You're not forced to take damage in Fire. It's all precise but possible. The little jumps over the Gabyoalls. There's a trick I explained in another comment that will allow you to pass through the dropping fire room without damage (Also you CAN NOT freeze those). And Fire Man has two different ways of tackling him. The legitimate way showed off in a commercial, and the strat most people use because it's quick and easy to learn.

I remember that crappy box art, and I still bought the game based only on the screenshots on the back of the box. In those days, you didn't know. Mega Man 1 was the absolute best case scenario... or Blaster Master. Meanwhile. you could spend even more and buy Spellunker or Athena (over $40 bucks back then which was like $110 today) and it's a total POS.

How can you give Elec Man a run for his money but not figure Fire Man's pattern out? Fire Man is way easier to lock into a repeatable beat. All you have to do is to jump and shoot at the same time every time you hit ground to avoid his attack. You don't have to move around once. Just jump and shoot.

No, as far as brutally difficult or utterly unfair, I’m talking the likes of The Adventures of Bayou Billy, Silver Surfer, Battletoads, Yo Noid!, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Back to the Future, Friday the 13th, Fester’s Quest, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Double Dragon III, Blaster Master … the list goes on. There’s a reason Ryu’s Extraordinarily Hard Games is dominated by the 8-bit monster. NES Hard is a thing. And believe it or not, I Wanna Be The Guy is an homage to the absurd difficulty of early NES gaming. O’Reilly specifically called it a “sardonic loveletter” meant to mimic the experience 80s kids suffered through trying to unravel the mystery of each cartridge and keep their jumbles of pixels from dying over and over and over. Yes, arcade games were intentionally difficult, and were limited in their continues by the number of quarters you had. A number of the games I just listed didn’t have continues or passwords either. Your comment “conveyance in an NES game is literally pointless. You went left to right. That’s it.” is either grotesquely ignorant or intentionally inflammatory. If that’s truly your position, then I’m not sure why you’re even watching this channel.

I beat this years ago without knowing about the pause glitch. I accidentally figured out the pause glitch when I was trying to do it again when I was fighting the cyclops boss. I couldn't imagine doing that boss with just the buster.

The (Yellow) Devil has different versions and iterations. There is Yellow devils MK1, 2 & 3 in classic games. The black devil (Dark Moon) in MMV and Green devil in MM&B. These type of bosses are a trademark of the MegaMan series, but each version plays differently and has at least 1 unique attack in their fights.
