Whew his point about record labels being banks, deals being loans and the quality of your manager determining the money you get!!! Feed that back to his point about a lot of artists being people trying to run away from pursuing formal education and not wanting to work under anyone-the fact of life is you can’t get by without embracing the fact you need to take time to study beyond what’s comfortable sometimes-there is no easy way out. Long story short - the industry has never really recovered since file sharing and the collapse of cd sales around 2004. He did well to make some dough just before that.
