Still a missed opportunity to include Megaman and Bass into Legacy Collection 2 for the Switch, in my honest opinion. Then, they could've incorporated it into Legacy Collection 2 on other versions of the game as free DLC.

It's a rather frustrating error, really. I don't understand why Capcom continues to ignore Mega Man & Bass in the West; it's still only been released in the problematic GBA port, so one imagines a proper SNES version would add quite a bit of value to the Legacy Collection.

uknownada Mega Man 7 is on New 3DS Virtual Console I believe but still now you can have 7 and 8 on the same portable console along with 9 and 10 which havn't been portable before this.

cap com seems to like to do things like this in the street fighter collection for switch they include only the original arcade edition. this is a bummer since street fighter alpha 2 gold edition has Cammy, and the ps1 and Saturn copies of alpha3 are objectively better than the arcade version having more characters

Great review! So far I've only played the game in Switch's handheld mode and it felt pretty difficult for fast-paced / action combat, where I died more than I would normally. However, I was able to play it with just a single joy-con with the Switch with its kick-stand and this was much better. I'm sure the Pro Controller will be the best way to go with this one, as Mega Man games require a ton of precision in order to beat the toughest bosses and levels in the game.

Thanks for this updated review - I'm probably picking up the collection today on Switch, as I've never played Mega Man 8, 9 or 10 before. It's disappointing that Capcom didn't go with Digital Eclipse for Legacy Collection 2, as I suspect that would have resulted in a more robust set of features thanks to Frank Cifaldi's involvement. Still, it's nice to finally have the games available on Switch as we wait for Mega Man 11!

Just picked up my copy today and it’s really good! I’m happy to report that all of the games run smoothly. Not only that, but I got 11 digitally months ago so I can play every Classic game on one cartridge. All of these games are really good so far, I beat 1-5 and 11, and tried the rest, which are all great!

They could have added descriptions in the museum for LC2. For instance, you go see Spalsh Woman's page, you get a description of who she is and what she used to do before turning bad.

Remember "Rockman Complete Works" for the ps1? It had megaman 1 to 6, with remastered music. Remember "Megaman: The Wily Wars" for the Genesis? It had megaman 1 to 3 with 16 bit graphics instead of 8 bit... I would love if someone hacked the Rockman Complete works ISO to add the Wily Wars 16 bit graphics in it so we can have both the remastered music and graphics at the same time! Also, I really wish legacy collection had "megaman and bass", "megaman soccer", "megaman the power battle" and "megaman the power fighters"... ANYWAY! Might get this collection in the distant future if it's ever on sale.

I think it's annoying that the second collection doesn't have the rewind feature. It's a dealbreaker not to have a save state system. Or maybe not, maybe I shall investigate the checkpoint system. Either way, my job is not to play videogames, unfortunately.

Nj Njhjh I know the second one doesn't have the rewind feature or the save system; I guess after you beat a boss and write down that annoying password, that's probably the only way to save, unfortunately. It's still a good game if you get past that inconvenience.

One HUGE addition to the first Legacy Collection needs to be mentioned: CPU speed toggle. You can "turbo" the clock speed to prevent slowdown. It changes the play quite a bit.

What is your opinion on the game being 1/2 digital and 1/2 cartridge? Capcom missed these opportunities: Megaman and Bass Megaman Mega World Megaman Wonderswan Megaman Power Fighters 1+2 (available on Gamecube's Legacy Collection) Convenience of having all 10 games on 1 cartridge (the total file size for all 10 games is 394,544,000 bytes, less than 512MB)

So I made a pretty good decision just buying both collections bundled for like $17 on xbox one during a sale earlier this year instead of waiting. The only new thing that matters is rewind which is being patched in the old versions anyway.

This is how this collection should have been released in the first place. I mean, besides having to download a second set of games. All ten games should have been available right from the beginning. But what's even weirder is that they're doing this same thing with the MegaMan X Legacy Collection. They're releasing both collections on the same exact day for no discernible reason at all. Maybe it's to save money on putting each game on the cartridge and they can act like they're being consistent or something by splitting it. I guess that means they're also consistent in making collections that have less games than their previous collection two generations prior. I can't wait until the MegaMan Zero Legacy Collection which only includes the first two games.

What is bothering the fuck out of me in Legacy collection 2 is like the other versions Mega Man 9 and 10 original screen size is not a perfect integer scale so the pixels are uneven.

So, they cut off the top and bottom of the screen, making it an even smaller screen space, why? Also no Megaman & Bass, which is an awesome game(s). Megaman V on the Gameboy is one of the best in the series and could have been utilized. Also, not doing SOMETHING with Wily Wars feels like a missed opportunity.

They're all 10 great games and all but who are the dumbasses at Capcom that thought making the second half of the "collection" exclusive to the eshop was a good idea? These games combined hardly take up even a quarter of the Switch's storage so there's no excuse for this.

First of all Those Two "Halves" are Separate Title in it's Own Regard and Thus Collection is a Bundle not a Single Game. Second Due to The Switch's Cartridges work only only one game can fit in them because once the code of One Single Game is Downloaded Into, it is Blocked and thus can't be altered (This is an Anti-Piracy Move). Thus if You Wanted Both Physical Both have to Come in Separate Cartridges (Something more Associated With Collectors Editions Which this Bundle does not have anywhere) or be sold as Separate Physical editions which that's What They Did in Japan Because of Their Culture Keeping More Value to Physical Things than Digital despite Their Advanced Tech (Something that in Most the West's General Population is Lacking, Instead Their Going Digital)

If you have patience, perseverance, and can appreciate a challenge, then the classic Megaman series would be a great start for you; these games are truly timeless. I played them all on the NES back in the day; no save data or rewind features, but I did write down my passwords. But that's just me though, you can feel free to take advantage of everything Legacy Collection offers. If you can handle the classic series, then you most certainly will be able to handle the X series, which is also excellent. This is just my personal recommendation, so take it as you will. :)
