not sure. i had no idea he was supposed to explode. i can tell you this is on normal mode, other than that i have no idea what may affect that. well, he was defeated by the mega buster instead of hyper bombs or another rm weapon...??

Max Clawson Allow me to shed some light on this. In this game, if you defeat a Robot Master with just the Mega Buster and NOT their weakness, that Robot Master will not explode. Instead, they will just be damaged, and so Mega Man will bring them back to Dr. Light to get them fixed. And in doing so, said Robot Master will now be a playable character.
