Mega Man X5 - Cutscene: Time Runs Out; Zero Becomes a Maverick

This cutscene occurs if you for some reason allow the time for the Eurasia colony to crash run out (1 hour passes each time you visit a level, including when you fight Dynamo and return to the stage select screen). Here, it's basically the same outcome as if the shuttle fails, but this time X and Zero are just seemingly out in the field when the colony crashes, and the rest of the gang back at the hunter base freak out and hide in cover. Afterwards, basically the same 'Zero awakening' scene happens from the shuttle fails cutscene.

Whole game is incredibly rushed and sloppy, from the writing to gameplay aspects to presentation. Easily the worst game in the series, maybe after X7, very disappointingly.

The canon is Zero succeeds with the shuttle, and they go to fight Sigma afterwards and Zero dies, while X lives on carrying Zero's saber with him. Basically, a combination of X's "good" ending and Zero's ending. And this is according to the intro sequence of Mega Man X6.

The canon is that Eurasia breaks into several parts when Zero crash the shuttle, causing it's debris to fall on Earth. That's why you start and see that messed up place in MMX6 first mission, that's where the debris of Eurasia's colony fell.

@@humbertomagnata5444 X6 is definitely canon. If Zero just "dies" after X5 until Zero 1 then the entire backstory explained in the Zero series doesn't make any sense. Zero can't have sealed himself away twice if he didn't come back.

For those not in the know, if you take out the final Shuttle Maverick on the last hour (I usually have that be Axel the Red/Spike Rosered), you will launch the shuttle,.since that takes priority over the colony crashing.

Yup, both the Enigma and Shuttle attacks have priority over the time over scene, but even so you're still at the mercy of the RNG to see if you go to the bad ending or not.

tfhe the only thing i did not like about mega man x5 is that it was so random of the space colony being destroyed with or without the parts from the mavericks and the mavericks needed to be at a very high level of getting any power up parts and of course alia was always interrupting the flow of gameplay in all of the stages but other than those X5 did have a good story

Honestly Capcom messed up giving this game multiple endings,it should have had one ending and let that be but nope we're stuck with x losing zero in a fight against sigma ,x winning but losing and being reprogrammed by a dead doctor light to forget zero(how this works is beyond me) or zero dying and being saved by iris from mmx4 (also a crazy ending)

Poor Zero, He can't catch a break can he? First being blown to pieces, then having to be rebuilt (Or Shot at, depending On The player's actions in X2) And having either the shuttle fail, or this happen.
