The translation thing was because the NA translator, voice actress Alyson Court, did the G&R references to amuse her then husband. #uselessfactoidoftheday

Great video, dude. I'm guessing the devs for this game forgot what they were fighting for. :)

It's very hard to continue to follow up and innovate with anything, even our favorite video game characters. X4 was a fantastic experience and yeah if x5 was anything less we would call it a disappointment. Thanks for the watch Tony!

I *completely* understand man! I DO like MMX5 and I feel that it is a good to very good game but after X4, it WAS disappointing in a few respects. X4 for me is simply an incredible, electrifying, high-octane video game experience. The soundtrack is one of the very best in the entire series, the cut scenes are awesome (voice acting was admittedly bad but the animation and presentation otherwise was superb) and the gameplay is just very fluid and effortless. I love how the game gave you two storylines to follow by having you choose X or Zero as well. And there wasn't much dialogue during the stages...unlike X5 where the game feels like a tutorial at times. Some of the music in X5 was very good and I did have fun but...it's no X4. Not by a longshot!

Twas the beginning of the end for Mega Man X. And X1-X4 were so good too. Shame.

After X4 the word that just keeps coming to mind with X5 is “lazy”.

One of the first PSX games I ever got back in the day was Mega Man X4. At the time I was completely blown away by the animated cut scenes and the fact that the story would change depending on whether you picked X or Zero to play as, thinking that THIS was the future of gaming. As soon as I finished X4 the anticipation for X5 began. When I learned of its existence, I pre-ordered the game with money I had earned from doing chores, and counted down the days until it was released, wondering what kinds of new and exciting features it would have in store. I remember the day it came out, going to Electronics Boutique after school to pick up my copy and heading straight home to play it. After making it through the intro stage, the barrage of unnecessary text boxes, and sitting through those painful "cut scenes", I could already tell X5 was a major disappointment. The best part about the game was beating it and never having to play it again.
